Mayor to School Board: Resign or Face Charges of Child Pornography over Writing Assignment
Newsweek ^ | 9/15/2021 | Meghan Roos

"It has come to my attention that your educators are distributing essentially what is child pornography in the classroom. I've spoken to a judge this evening; she's already confirmed that," Shubert said. "So I'm going to give you a simple choice. Either choose to resign from this Board of Education, or you will be charged."

While we respect the Mayor's position within the City of Hudson, in accordance with the State laws of Ohio, the supervision of the public schools of this District is the responsibility of the Board of Education. At this time, no Board of Education member has indicated any intention to resign."

That works. Better, actually. Make room in the jails for the pervs. But I'm guessing they won't last long there.

This looks to be much to do about nothing.

“writing prompts in a supplemental resource, a writing journal, titled 642 Things to Write About, that contains content not appropriate in a high school setting. The resource was used in a college level course at the school. Application for the course includes parental acknowledgement of a college environment that may include themes or content not found in a more controlled secondary school environment.”

642 things to write about, of which a couple were sexual in nature. The students were not asked to write about all 642.

Stupid waste of time and energy by the parents and mayor.

“School Board, Bond issue, and City Council elections should be held on the day of General Elections. They are deliberately held in separate elections, which supresses the vote.”

You are so right. Here in Quebec, I live in an English-speaking part of Gatineau (Aylmer, just north of Ottawa, the capitol).

When I first moved here, there was a huge aggressive drive to combine the cities, in “amalgamation,” to make a huge mega-city that was supposed to keep spending in line. Hah.

Anyway, they scheduled the vote in Aylmer as to whether or not we should be joined with the big city on a SUNDAY, on FATHER’S DAY.

Few showed up to vote. It was an intentional move to suppress the vote.

The writing exercise came from a group in San Francisco which for me raised a red flag. The other red flag? None of the prompts were included in the Newsweek article.

No such thing as journalism anymore.

The prompts must have been so nasty and twisted they don’t quote them in the article. Kinda important, ya? If they were innocuous, why not at least link a copy?

The Ministry of “Journalism” would have to disagree with you.

that is why they have elected school board, so as to eliminate politics. Didn’t work.

Most people do not want to monitor all elected officials. Just too much time.

Or at least move the school board election to November.

The Mayor is grandstanding. Most school curriculums are approved either by a committee or the Administration. The class is then presented to the board to approve if new or if a textbook is involved, for purchase. School boards do not get into the weeds in day-to-day operations. They set policy.

I would guess the Mayor has other issues where he is unpopular with the public and, like Biden, is looking for a shiny object to save his own ass.

I doubt you’d find a prosecutor who would allow the board to be charged. If anyone is culpable, it would be the administrator that approved the curriculum, not the board.

The School Board? OK.

Why stop there. How about the teachers pushing this porn on children? Didn't they see it too? Don't they have some culpability as well?

There are a lot of pedos in the school system/democrat party. Jail would be too good for them.

Or local school board has been infiltrated by teachers from OTHER districts who reside in our district. Fox guarding Hen. <<

Yes and teachers actively “recruit” members of the community that are sympathetic to their cause

Maybe our side should try that sometime.
