Former Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell is pouring cold water on new reporting from Bob Woodward, detailed in the Washington Post Tuesday, that General Mark Milley vowed to give China a heads up if President Donald Trump ordered an attack.
He's also dismissing calls from Alexander Vindman, the "whistleblower" behind Trump's first impeachment over a phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, for Milley to resign.
From the Washington Post's reporting on Woodward's book:
In the book’s account, Milley went so far as to pledge he would alert his counterpart in the event of a U.S. attack, stressing the rapport they’d established through a backchannel. “General Li, you and I have known each other for now five years. If we’re going to attack, I’m going to call you ahead of time. It’s not going to be a surprise.”
Believing that China could lash out if it felt at risk from an unpredictable and vengeful American president, Milley took action. The same day, he called the admiral overseeing the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, the military unit responsible for Asia and the Pacific region, and recommended postponing the military exercises, according to the book. The admiral complied.
Milley also summoned senior officers to review the procedures for launching nuclear weapons, saying the president alone could give the order — but, crucially, that he, Milley, also had to be involved. Looking each in the eye, Milley asked the officers to affirm that they had understood, the authors write, in what he considered an “oath.”
I trust Millie much less.
“I’m inclined to trust Grenell’s assessment”
Which was?
I trust Grenell far more than the confirmed idiot Woodward.
I don’t care if it’s true or not any more. Milley has no problem using propaganda lies to further his agenda. F*** Milley. He needs to be stripped of rank and sent to Leavenworth.
.
The part about him telling others in command not to take orders from Trump, that part is true and it has been know around DC for some time.
.
Chaos, just what uncle Joe needs to finally buy the farm.
Okay, so Grenell called the report “gossip and innuendo”. But did he deny it?
And now it’s time for a Rodney Dangerfield joke:
Q. What do they call the Italian brand of Preparation H?
A. Innuendo.
(Come on now, that’s funny. I don’t care who you are.)
I was explaining to mrs. jimfree a scenario where Milley’s instructions could be proper or at least not improper and interpreted by Woodward as stated.
Woodward may have fabricated a lie to hit at Trump, and hit Milley instead.
F*** Milley. He needs to be stripped of rank and sent to Leavenworth.

Agreed. Grenell has been solid as far as I remember. One of the few who actually stood by Trump, at least publicly.
I'm old enough to remember the game of "Kremlin Watching." who is up, who is down, reading political tea leaves and controlled media to try and guess what is happening among Soviet apparatchiks and their factions.
This is what America has become.
I thought the innuendo was that Milley was a fag?
.
The Senators were meeting with the CIA head and the AG, all going around Trump in his last 2 yrs.
That is way out of whack of how things work.
It was a deep state rebellion. The China thing is separate from him telling his peeps to go thru him, and not to complete orders from Trump.
The AG is actually part of the Executive branch, but you saw what Sessions and Barr did. Lindsey Graham admitted to meeting with Barr and then he and McConnell publicly back Barr over the President of the United States.
.
.
Remember the Whistleblower and Vindman?
State Dept flunkies weren’t even listening to Trump’s directives.
.
Yeah, I trust Grenell too. He’s one of maybe five in DC worthy of trust. If the regime’s mouthpieces (Woodward, WP) are just making sh!t up about Milley, the long knives are definitely out. The Dems will saddle Milley with Afghanistan and crucify him over it, absolving Joe of his Afghan sins.
Pass the popcorn please!
Podobiec says there are witnesses who will testify
