Most days, the yellow bus that’s supposed to take Denise Madre’s kids from their Germantown home to school in Roxborough doesn’t show up at all. A bus did come on one of the six days school has been open so far — nearly four hours late. ---SNIP---But the transportation reality has been much worse than anyone had braced for, affecting schools across the city, leaving some students stranded and others on buses for hours or dropped off in the wrong neighborhoods. After a year-plus of pandemic-disrupted learning, persistent bus woes have kept some students out of school completely and left parents and school staff scrambling yet again.

Maybe some the white progressives who shut down cities to get a senile kleptocrat elected president can volunteer as school bus drivers.

Good, shut the entire system down.

Break it, shatter it, resist it.

The pressure is on to get all those new Afghanis seated as bus drivers for all those innocent little kids. That won’t be a problem, right?

A friend of mine’s Father drove a school bus. Too much liability and kids can make weird stuff up when you tell them to stay seated or stop yelling etc. I wouldn’t trust any of the little sh**s in my neighborhood.

We live in a society of brown shirts and false accusations.

I wonder what the average math, English and graduation rates of the school district. Maybe there’s no material difference if the kids stay home?

I have a niece that lives in West Virginia and this is also happening there. Some school districts are offering parents mileage to drive their kids to school, which isn't a bad idea.

A friend of mine is a school bus driver. His company is so short of drivers that they’ve taken a don’t ask, don’t tell policy. Nobody talks about vaccinations, period.

I suppose that will change if Biden’s vaccination degree goes through.

Philly? Are you supplied with a Taser? Fairfax County, Va is up to $22.91/hr + $3000 sign on bonus now. They provide paid 5-week CDL training, too.

>>A friend of mine’s Father drove a school bus.

My sister did too - too many little sh*ts on the bus that wouldn’t behave, and when ratted out to their parents, the parents would just complain to the school about the driver instead of correcting their kids behaviors.

She ended up quitting because of it.

LOL in some places the bus drivers delivered the breakfasts and lunches every day in empty busses right to their homes!

This friend’s Father could not be more reliable, honest and decent. A former marine that just liked driving the bus and found it worked well with his schedule.

Same thing though. Parents would gang up on him. Reprimands that were false. He quit and was very sad about it.
