The time to nuke them is when they are West of Africa.
Yes. The sun was out earlier; then it was like someone turned down a dimmer switch and it’s starting to rain. I checked the radar, and there are bands of rain pushing in that weren’t in the forecast yesterday evening. The rain chances shot way up in the 7 day forecast once this thing stalled out. So much for grilling out any time soon.
Thanks for your local report. We’re getting weather over in Tampa Bay. Seems tropical.
You’re welcome. Local short-term reports from the Birmingham NWS office confirms that there’s a cloud shield over the entire state now. Most monitoring stations are reporting light rain has started. No severe weather is anticipated at this time; rainfall amounts will be low - mostly just a light rain and drizzle, possibly a few rumbles of thunder in isolated spots. Enough to make one light festive candles throughout the house and stay inside, which is what we’ll mostly do. Bleak weather demands it.
More than 75% of Houston metro outages are restored tonight.
Good news.
My conditions are as described in post #124, wet, wet, wet!
The long arm of Nicholas slapped us with a squall near sunset yesterday. Today mild breeze, crisp blue skies. High today only 87º.
I saw that on the radar yesterday.
My youngest sister lives in Tampa...my older one lives in Conroe, 40 miles north of Houston. All of us were affected by Nicholas at the same time.
I've used the wet conditions, no walk, to make a big pot of taco soup/stew. It will last me for a month. I make it thicker than the soup recipe that's why I call it 'stew.'
(It's the best thing I make, hmmmm)
Taco stew sounds yummy!
