President Biden never visited the Tree of Life synagogue after the 2018 massacre that killed 11 Jewish Americans, according to the White House.
On Thursday, during a virtual address ahead of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, Biden claimed he visited the Tree of Life synagogue following the shooting in 2018, when a lone gunman committed what is now considered the worst attack against American Jews in United States history.
“I remember spending time at the, you know, going to the, you know, the Tree of Life synagogue, speaking with them,” Biden said.
The president’s claims of visiting the synagogue were immediately refuted by Tree of Life Executive Director Barb Feige, who said it never happened.
“In a phone interview, Feige, executive director since July 2019, said firmly that ‘no’ Biden didn’t visit, even before taking office when he had a lower public profile as a former vice president and then-Democratic presidential candidate,” reported the New York Post.
On Friday, the White House confirmed to the New York Post that the president never visited the synagogue and was instead referring “to a call he had with the Tree of Life rabbi in 2019,” which contradicts the fact that Biden explicitly said that he remembers “spending time at” the Tree of Life synagogue. Nonetheless, Tree of Life Rabbi Hazzan Jeffrey Myers told the Post that Biden did call him one year after the massacre.
President Biden kindly called me on my cell phone as I was sitting in Dulles Airport awaiting a return flight to Pittsburgh after I testified before Congress in July 2019.
Following the attack, then-President Donald Trump visited the site to pay his respects and personally met with the synagogue’s rabbi, Jeffrey Myers, who said the president exhibited a ‘warm and personal side’ unseen by the public.

77% of American Jews Voted for Biden, New Poll Finds
Question: What percentage of American Jews voted for Trump versus Biden in the 2020 elections?
Answer: 77% of American Jews voted for Biden in 2020, and 23% went for Trump, according to a new poll by the GBAO Research and Jim Gerstein, a group that has studied Jewish voting patterns.
This result was in line with historic trends, but more Jews voted for Biden in 2020 than they did in 2016 for Hillary Clinton.
The survey looked at the voting behavior of Conservative, Reform, and Orthodox Jews, along 13 important issues (see below). The poll then broke these responses down further according to their religious Jewish level of observance (Orthodox, Reform, Conservative, Unaffiliated).
Overall, Biden got 97% of the vote from all Jews, while 79% of Orthodox Jews voted for Trump. About 10% of American Jews are Orthodox.
At the issue-level, the sample of 800 American Jews used in the poll considered these as the most important issues:
COVID virus
Climate change
Health care
The economy
The Supreme Court
Police reform and the pursuit of justice
National security
Immigration
Israel
Taxes
Education
Iran
In addition, the poll found Jews had very favorable opinions and feelings about Biden, Obama, and the Democratic Party. At the other extreme, the poll said the unfavorable opinions of Jews was expressed against Netanyahu, Trump, the Republican party, and Mitch McConnell. All of these were negative. The opinion of Trump is “uniquely bad” among American Jews, the poll found.

Trump was always accused of being a liar unjustly. Biden is rarely called out on his MANY lies and gaffes.
Good question.
Why does Hillary Clinton lie about things such as being under sniper fire? Or that she wanted to be an astronaut, or that she was named after the guy who first climbed Mt. Everest? Some people just are liars, and hope nobody calls them out on the lies.
So in this case, a certain number of people will have heard that Joe went to that synagogue after the shooting, but some of those will not hear this update that he never really went there.
Joe said something about visiting the students from the school in Florida, that they came to his VP office, but he was no longer vice president at that time. He’s just used to making things up.
