Heeding Steve Bannon’s Call, Election Deniers Organize to Seize Control of the GOP — and Reshape America’s Elections

The stolen election myth inspired thousands of Trump supporters to take over the Republican Party at the local level, exerting more partisan influence on how elections are run.

One of the loudest voices urging Donald Trump’s supporters to push for overturning the presidential election results was Steve Bannon. “We’re on the point of attack,” Bannon, a former Trump adviser and far-right nationalist, pledged on his popular podcast on Jan. 5. “All hell will break loose tomorrow.” The next morning, as thousands massed on the National Mall for a rally that turned into an attack on the Capitol, Bannon fired up his listeners: “It’s them against us. Who can impose their will on the other side?”

The solution, Bannon announced, was to seize control of the GOP from the bottom up. Listeners should flood into the lowest rung of the party structure: the precincts. “It’s going to be a fight, but this is a fight that must be won, we don’t have an option,” Bannon said on his show in May. “We’re going to take this back village by village … precinct by precinct.”

Precinct officers are the worker bees of political parties, typically responsible for routine tasks like making phone calls or knocking on doors. But collectively, they can influence how elections are run. In some states, they have a say in choosing poll workers, and in others they help pick members of boards that oversee elections.

How simple it would be to address electoral fraud concerns.

Of course, that avenue is only open if you haven’t engaged in electoral fraud.

This is not new. We did this in 2008 and in 2010. It was called the Tea Party. It was when I got involved in politics at the local and State level. In my already Republican County which was seeing some very non Republican policies being enacted, we ran, we won and we are still there. We took over the local Party, the State party. (Kelli Ward is now the Chair). the BOS, City Councils. It was glorious. But some got lazy and rested on their laurels. You can never underestimate the devious Left.

"election deniers organize to seize control of GOP"

1. "Election deniers" - There's that sloppy language again, as with "climate deniers." No one denies there was an election, and no one denies there's a climate. People had good reasons for questioning the election, and they offered ample evidence for their belief. For four years the left called Trump an "illegitimate" president, and they didn't even bother to offer any evidence. Were they "election deniers"?

2. "Seize control" - They try to make it sound sinister, even violent, but it's old-fashioned grass-roots politics, otherwise known as "democracy." Do they have a problem with that?

“ProPublica is a nonprofit newsroom that investigates abuses of power.”

Except when those abuses of power are committed by Democrats.

Like when it comes to democrats stealing elections.

Or democrats weaponizing the IRS to harass and intimidate conservatives.

Or democrats locking up protesters in 24/7 solitary confinement for months on charges that amount to little more than mere misdemeanors.

Or democrats abusing the impeachment process, twice, by accusing and charging the president with crimes that werent crimes to begin with.

ProPublica is EVIL!!!! It practices doxxing!!!!

The people they call “election deniers” accept the TRUTH that the 2020 Presidential election was stolen by the Dims!!!! More and more evidence for this is coming out, and their will be more still!!!!

Moreover, the illegitimate Dim administration anointed by the stolen election gave us the debacle in Afghanistan, the destruction of our southern border, high energy and food prices, etc. etc. etc. More and more Americans want to go back to the “good old days” of the Trump administration!!!!

If the so-called “election deniers” take over our elections, we shall have election integrity!!!! GOOD!!!! But we also need to put ProPublica out of business permanently!!!!

we started paying attention last year and we have put some very good people on. We caught wind about Critical Race Theory. Got on it, went to school board meetings and now it’s dead. It’s a lot or work, but we MUST do it.

TWO event—not in contest “fixed” the election. 1) Trump banned from social Media (That Happened) and 2) Hunter’s laptop story in NY Post banned by media and social media. (That too rally happened) That fixed the race besides all the ballot stuffing (that could be contested).

Why build something from scratch when you can take over an existing structure?

Exactly!

The existing structure is functional; but for other reasons involving RINOs and state-federal political traitors a MAGA Trump would be serving the nation from the WH.

Just start a new party that actually stands for something. Build it and they will come

Any new party you try to start will be overrun by leftists and RINOs soon enough, if people aren't vigilant.

It will be easier to take over the GOP.

Enthusiasm on the Right rises and falls. But the Left's funding for activism stays constant, so they win long term.

The rally did NOT turn into an attack...In fact, there was NO “attack” on the Capitol...

Correct. But IMO that just proved showing up en masse at DC does anything for us anyway. We turn up...for what....to demand to be heard? Who hears us? We beg someone to listen to us...does anyone listen?

Making changes at your local school board or taking over the local GOP, however sounds much more promising. Decentralized, grass roots change that can't be as easily defended against by the leftist powerbase in the big cities.

We need to stop massing on their turf where we can be easily targeted and, instead, put their local apparatchiks on the defensive on our turf.

That’s true...Grassroots building....We do need to start governing local and state first to build a strong base...
