The two congressmen said they went into their visit wanting “to push the president to extend the August 31st deadline. After talking with commanders on the ground and seeing the situation here, it is obvious that because we started the evacuation so late, that no matter what we do, we won’t get everyone out on time, even by September 11.”

Was there when Nancy’s trip was turned off. Was the funniest things I’ve seen in my career. Nope can’t come… Also saw the preparations required for the tour. That was a PITA.

Reaction from an official upset with this excursion: “There wasn’t a f___ing Congressional delegation flying into Saigon.”Probably because The Saigon Government lasted two years after the US withdrawal before they were defeated by the Communists, instead of lasting less than two months after our military pulled out of Afghanistan’s Bagram Airfield in the dark of night without even telling the Afghan military.
