Was there when Nancy’s trip was turned off. Was the funniest things I’ve seen in my career. Nope can’t come… Also saw the preparations required for the tour. That was a PITA.
I dealt with her on a trip to Baghdad. Was kind of big deal when Congress flew over.
Without knowing names or parties, you knew what party they belonged to as soon as they got off the planes. Republican’s would approach you like it was a campaign event. Of all the Democrats I dealt with 3 were friendly. Lynch, Bobby Bright-who was awesome. Can’t remember the 3rd guy. Other then those 3, they wouldn’t even look you in the eye.
Anywho, we had the itinerary, meet the troops, go to hospital, lunch with the troops, meeting with Ambassador, leave. Nope. No meetings or lunch with troops. Stood in foyer of Baghdad CASH. Meet with some Iraqi officials and then back to the airport. Total time in country, maybe 6 hours.
