She also chose to veto legislation that had been passed to stop deranged boys and men from sharing showers with girls. It is more than a little sad to see posters on this forum mistakenly put business policies over the individual liberty of customers and employees. Just as conservatives and libertarians are rightly concerned about ceding too much power to government, we need to be equally concerned about the danger to liberty posed by corporations. Just as roads and public places are a necessary for all people to have access, so too with businesses who provide necessary goods and services. France today is an example of what this can turn into if people are not permitted in stores and restaurants to buy food. There is a good reason why black people can't be prohibited from the soda fountain.

I will now actively oppose Kristi Noem with every fiber of my being if she ever tries to run for national office. I would rather have known evil like Hillary Clinton over a traitor like Kristi Noem.

I’d be out the door before the notice of the vaccine mandate was on my desk for two minutes. But that doesn’t mean the company can’t mandate something that is perfectly legal.

Or when an employer demands that employees get an abortion or get fired. Seems like an easy way around the employer’s responsibilities under the Family Medical Leave Act, if they can just mandate medical procedures now.

Exactly. In theory I agree with her. However, in the real world it’s likely that many of these companies are either run by libs, who don’t deserve self-determination because they don’t believe in it, or the managers world prefer not to be tyrants and banning mandates would give them an out. On balance, mandate bans are probably good.

Can a company mandate as a condition of employment someone having to ingest or otherwise take something into their body that has the potential to harm them?

Would that not be practicing medicine without a license?

She’s right. Once people start quitting and going to a competitor who doesn’t require vaccines, and they scramble to replace lost employees with others who won’t work for them on principle or are untrained costing companies lots of money they might regret their decision.
