Afghanistan: Boris Johnson says G7 has agreed 'roadmap' for future engagement with Taliban

The G7 group of nations has agreed a "roadmap" for future engagement with the Taliban and will insist on the "safe passage" of people who want to leave Afghanistan beyond 31 August, Boris Johnson has said.

The prime minister was speaking after a virtual G7 summit about the evacuation of people from Afghanistan.

Mr Johnson was expected to use the talks to press US President Joe Biden to extend the deadline for pulling out his remaining troops from Afghanistan to allow evacuations to continue.

He said the UK had managed to evacuate 9,000 people so far and "we're confident we can get thousands more out".

"We will go on right up until the last moment that we can," Mr Johnson said.

"But you have heard what the President of the United States has had to say, you have heard what the Taliban have said."

Fools at the G7.

They ignore the fact the Taliban will do what they want until they encounter a greater and more brutal force.

“Mr Johnson was expected to use the talks to press US President Joe Biden to extend the deadline “

Apparently that didn’t work

Jeeze. We’re going out of our way to let the Taliban know they’re driving the show.

A road map usually means they’re completely lost.

History is repeating itself. Back in 1938 British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain met with Hitler then declared, “Peace for our time.” With his “roadmap” babbling, Boris Johnson is saying much the same thing today.

Is Johnson as naive as Chamberlain was? Time will tell.

The demented puppet’s handlers have only ONE goal:
Turn the United States into a third world shithole country.
And they’re doing it rapidly!
NO ONE in Congress, except for 2-4 members are pushing back!
The military is compromised.
There’s going to be states leaving this train wreck.

Two decades of military sacrifice being thrown away. Yet not much dissent or friction being heard from former military leadership. Strange considering the high cost we paid for this adventure and the way it was haphazardly ended.

Not just a train wreck. They’re blowing up all the tracks, tunnels and bridges too.

The only discussion people should be having is “IF” we have to come back: “What will the rules of engagement be” I strongly recommend reviewing history for successful conquering strategies of the area. See Genghis Khan. or perhaps Philip Sheridan in the West.

None of this modern rules for a medieval culture. You must give them something they can understand.

“You cannot qualify war in harsher terms than I will. War is cruelty, and you cannot refine it” Sherman

How many were Afghans? Is it really evacuation to bring Afghans out of Afghanistan?

First question: What does "insist" mean and what is backing up this insistence?
