'Scorcher' of a reality check on 'global warming' Climate change determined to be unconnected to Pacific Northwest heat wave

The Pacific Northwest was hit with a record-shattering heat wave in June, with temperatures over 35 degrees higher than normal in some places. On June 28, Portland, Ore., reached 116 degrees. Late last week the region suffered another blast of hot weather, with a high in Portland of 103 degrees. The New York Times didn’t hesitate to pronounce the region’s bouts of extreme weather proof that the climate wasn’t just changing, but catastrophically so.

To make that claim, the Times relied on a “consortium of climate experts” that calls itself World Weather Attribution, a group organized not just to attribute extreme weather events to climate change, but to do so quickly. Within days of the June heat wave, the researchers released an analysis, declaring that the torrid spell “was virtually impossible without human-caused climate change.”

Yup! Erf killers. And right on cue, reports on the Dixie fire in Lassen/Plumas counties from the government InciWed site include this:

"Substantial losses of private and public timberlands have released decades of sequestered carbon, releasing it into the atmosphere with uncalculatable impacts to greenhouse gas accumulations."

So, would have forest clearing have helped keep the fires from blowing up like they have? Probably the 'ecoliars' didn't want to pollute by using heavy equipment to aid in the clearing. If the forest had just gotten it's jab............ Oh, sorry. Another cats-ass-trophy.

The June “heat wave” here was two days long. It was hot, then it wasn’t.

alepo? whoknows? Whatever it is, you can be sure that you’re partly responsible. Same for the resurgence of the ‘tall-EE-bhan”. Yup. Climate change.

It’s been anything but hot where I am. Dry, but cooler than “normal,” if anything.

You won’t convince my idiot governor Mad Jay Inslee, he thinks every bad event is a result of climate change and proudly says so.

Send some rain south to help suppress the fires. Air quality in Reno this morning was 314. But at least it was 51 degrees. 😂

Regarding masks, this link was going around the forum dealing with mask mandates, if you're interested.

Not where I live. It lasted weeks. And was way above normal all June and July and early August.

The average daily high in Seattle for the month of July was the lowest since 1984 or something. June was the second hottest on record! And August saw upper 90’s again for a few days. (A cool 61 degrees though at the moment.)

Weather!

I don’t know where you live, but here in the Seattle area it’s been the hottest year in my lifetime, with three or four days over 100, another eight or ten in the nineties, and about twenty five or more in the 80s. In about a six or seven week period, I think we only had a handful of days when it didn’t reach 80.

I don't believe that for a minute, and I've lived here all my life. We had a hot July.

It was blazing, lived in WA for 65 out of 68 years. Right now, is what was once June weather. After the 4th, it would get hot. It would rarely get so hot that there was no dew in the morning. There was no onshore flow, for whatever reasons.

I sincerely think the Governments of the world are practicing steering the jet stream. Whether people want to believe it or not, they are doing weather warfare “as an experiment”. Like experimenting with Viruses to see what they come up with.

Well, I know this here lower power is fairly disgusted with the clowns in charge up there. Are conservatives too busy to run or feel like it’s a waste of time up there. (and here)
