I’m more than a little surprised to learn that law enforcement agencies don’t just set up and run their own reverse geo-coding services and instead go to Google.

What is unmentioned in the story is how one company has the entire social network of the United States and its grubby little hands. This is one of the main reasons why our freedoms are evaporating.

We need some draconian data privacy laws to reign in these arrogant pukes.

Let’s go back to the good ol’ days. Leave the hi-tech phone at home & use cash.

To avoid arrest, don't be in the wrong place.

Even better, leave your phone at home when you're out on a crime spree. That will force Google to be your alibi witness.

Anyone who was in the area of a crime is not a suspect, and must have his rights respected. But they won’t be.

Was the iphone invented to make it easier to arrest people, or to send messages and make phone calls?

IMPORTANT...

Google Support --> Manage Your Location History

Location History is a Google Account–level setting that saves where you go with every mobile device where:

CNET --> Google always knows where you are. Here's how to turn that off
How long do we think it will be before The Powers That Be 1) make it impossible to turn off Google location tracking, then 2) they will mandate it be turned ON in all new phones sold. Or Congress passes a law making it mandatory? Or the President issues a national security directive manding it be turned on?

You can also sanitize your phone of Google and Facebook monitoring software.

So the NSA monitors all phone and data transmission, and Google gives the location data to the FBI.

Nice little extortion racket big tech and big government has going.

Makes the mob look like amateurs.

Tightly wrap your phone in aluminum foil when you are not using it. It denies your phone the ability to geolocate, and also minimizes the government’s ability to turn on the camera and microphone of your cell phone, without your knowledge. Even if your phone is powered down, the government has created the ability to use your camera and microphone, while your phone appears to be turned off. Also, if you think you can drain your battery, and deny them this capability, it should be understood that when your phone tells you it’s out of juice, there is a “reserve” capacity of your battery, reserved for the purpose of using it as a surveillance device. Just sayin...

Stop using Google!

They are the enemy of privacy in every conceivable way, and your use of their platform for anything constitutes an willful abrogation of yours.

I remember watching a documentary or other program where a hit man would be dispatched to another state to “take care of business”. Before he left he would have someone else get a pre-paid phone using cash. The biggest obstacle was the transportation. How does he get to place of business? When he first got dispatched it was easy, take a bus or train. Before he got caught he had resorted to some sort of ride share thing, just short of hitchhiking.
The downfall for him was actually doing his business in the victims home. Victim had cameras hidden that the police used to catch him.
So long story short, there are ways to avoid detection as far as location and tracking but good luck with the cameras because theyre everywhere now and you’ll be caught by them. You’d have to have a disguise of some sort in this period of time. Now after an EMP, anything goes.
I don’t remember the program name but the guy was mafia on the East coast and traveled as far as Vegas and Florida until the early 2000’s

Not foolproof. The joke can be on Google since a lot of that info can be faked and spoofed and they have no way to stop it.
