Texas is facing a tipping point in the state’s battle with COVID-19.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R), who is fully vaccinated, tested positive for COVID-19 this week as deaths in his state from the coronavirus have more than doubled in the last two weeks and hospitals have reached capacity.
While Abbott suffered a relatively rare breakthrough infection, less than half the state’s total population is fully vaccinated against the virus, putting them at heavy risk of getting COVID-19.

I’m looking at the U.K.’s numbers and the new cases and currently ill numbers are on plateauing or downward trend. I suspect stories like these about Texas or Florida are soon not going to age particularly well.

While Abbott suffered a relatively rare breakthrough infection... "Relatively rare". Is this like "mostly peaceful"?

If the vaccines work so great at preventing you from being hospitalized or dying why are those who have breakthrough infections being put on moncolonal antibodies? Shouldn’t the vaccine be good enough?

“Relatively rare” breakthrough infection. At some point, they won’t be able to make that claim anymore.

See how easy the media is flipping the script? cheating Beijing Joe comes out gives a lecture on Covid and in an instant the media gravitates to his talking point. By tomorrow Afghanistan will be all but forgotten by the media. MARK IT!

Here's the problem: just what is the level of people actually sick? Delta and Delta+ spreads easily but actual people who have been fully vaccinated and/or recovered from a previous COVID illness getting sick again is actually quite low.

They need to take one hospital and make it a Covid hospital, equip it with whatever is needed for Covid and allow the other hospitals run as normal. What are the demographics of these Covid victims? Age, conditions, legal status, etc.

Abbott’s ADEs we’re scrambling to ADE him by holding press conferences discussing the need for medical ADE to affected Texans. The Federal answer, of course, is more Vaccine ADE to vulnerable people who need ADE.
