Analysis: U.S.'s withdrawal from the country could severely damage its position in the region, especially with its partners who fear the soon-to-be declared 'Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan' might turn into a hotbed of global terror TPS|

It means that China comes in and mines the rate elements in North Afghanistan for starters.
Lots of latitude for unexpectedly…
No doubt
Maybe on your suggestion (China mining the rare elements).
But then there’s that Uyghur group, and I would imagine sooner or later....they come to chat with the Taliban/ISIS/a-Qaeda folks, and the Chinese welcome will go fairly negative from that point on.
“Chinese welcome will go fairly negative from that point on.”
The Chinese CCP vs Taliban, birds of a feather. What could possibly go wrong?
The Molotov-Ribbentrop pact comes to mind. It was a peace treaty between the Union of Soviet Socialist Republic and National Socialist Germany signed in August of 1939.
Both the Uyghurs and the Taliban are Sunni Muslims, but the Uyghurs are considered somewhat impure (some Han Chinese admixture in their practices and even families) and have never been of much interest to the Islamic world. The Taliban need the Chinese more than they need the Uyghurs, and I’d be surprised to see them make much of a fuss about the Uyghur situation.
Thank you for that. ‘Pod
I tried to read at the source but popups and advertisements I couldn’t get rid of prevented me from seeing the article.

They will eventually have to fight each other.
After the soviets slaughtered untold thousands of the goat herding, cave dwellers, they gave up and went home.
No nation in over 2,000 years has ever been able to win a war in this shit hole country.
The choice is clear, either MOABs or NUKEs, end of discussion.
“Lots of latitude for unexpectedly…”
I’m thinking that’s pretty subtle, but I got a laugh out of it. (:

One person was able to win a war in Afghanistan. Of course that was the #1 butt-kicker of all time, Genghis Khan.
———What does Afghanistan’s fall to the Taliban mean for the Middle East?——
Nothing
The relevant event that rendered Afghanistan irrelevant is the Abraam Accord.
Iran is seriously contained by the coalition of Israel, Saudi Arabia and the UAE with Egypt, Jordan and Kuwait thrown in for good measure
Somone has rendered the Iranian nuclear effort null and void for the foreseeable future. Additionally, many other important industrial capabilities have been seriously damaged. Sanctions and uprisings are adding to the intense pressure. At sea, the Iranian Navy has been seriously damaged.
While Iran might not be in trouble, it has been seriously set back. The surrogates are going unfunded and the repercussions of that are being felt in Lebanon and Gaza.
It ain’t your daddy’s Oldsmobile any more
It’s very simple, it means more military weapon sales for America!
11 The angel of the LORD proceeded: “Behold, you have conceived and will bear a son. And you shall name him Ishmael, for the LORD has heard your cry of affliction.
12 He will be a wild donkey of a man, and his hand will be against everyone, and everyone’s hand against him; he will live in hostility toward all his brothers.”
That too. China/Russia are still somewhat competitive
