We should all worry about what YouTube did to Rand Paul
Washington Examiner ^ | Aug 15 | Christopher Tremoglie

Posted on 08/16/2021 2:12:58 AM PDT by RandFan

YouTube is a private company. The First Amendment does not require it to honor First Amendment rights. However, when a gargantuan conglomerate can essentially eliminate the opinions of senators, justifying its actions under the guise of dispelling misinformation, it borders on totalitarianism.

“I’m not sure when YouTube became an arm of the government, and I’m not really sure it’s good for journalism to also be an arm of the government without any repercussions or push back,” Paul said on a conference call last week.

Moreover, this type of thing only seems to happen to Republicans and conservatives. For example, when Rep. Cori Bush, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, and then-Sen. Kamala Harris repeated the inflammatory lie Michael Brown was murdered by police, there was no censorship and no reprisals by the tech giants.

Paul was making the case some studies have shown masks are ineffective against the spread of COVID-19. Stating these studies do exist is an unequivocal fact. Now, some studies say masks are indeed effective in stopping the spread. However, that would not change the reality that multiple researchers and scientists published studies in peer-reviewed journals asserting masks are ineffective. If we are supposed to “trust the science,” doesn’t the public have a right to know this?

The dangerous slope created by liberals' and Democrats' assertions of “trust the science” has come to fruition in a totalitarian tech state. Liberals, despite frequently rejecting scientific truth, have weaponized science to achieve results that only align with their own political agenda. If the science goes against their beliefs, it is discarded. And those caught promoting disfavored scientific facts, as Paul did, get banned.

However, a larger fear is if YouTube can do this to a senator, what can it get away with against regular citizens?

Google does a lot more than censor YouTube videos. It skews quire's. It has gotten so bad that I routinely go to GoDuckGo if my search is political.

More bizarre yet, every once in awhile a Google search asks me to prove I'm not a robot. What is up with that?

The final insult is my phone won't even show YouTube videos unless I input my email address which I have delibertly kept off my phone!

If you are using a VPN, it is checking to make sure you're not a mischievous bot.

Did nobody see this coming when it happened to Alex Jones back in 2018? Or Tommy Robinson? TR even did a video around April-May time frame about being censored “I’m not going to be around much longer”. I believe it was 2018 when Gavin McInnes was de platformed and censored too because of the SPLC labeling him as a racist.

Notice how they are not pushing 6 ft social distancing; its all about wearing masks, getting vaccinated.

NIH Director said he wasn’t worried about the hoards down at the border because they are mask compliant as they stand shoulder to shoulder in holding pens, sleeping shoulder to shoulder etc.

YouTube already silenced a President. It has shown it has the power silence anyone.

However, no matter how many it silences, the Left can’t alter reality. Look at the Afghan debacle. A few weeks ago the regime was touting how the immediate pullout of troops would not destabilize the country. That the Afghan Arm could defend the country. No dissenting opinions from the fascist press. Then reality intervened.

So yes, the left has the power to silence dissent on YouTube against the official Covid narrative, but it can’t use that censorship to alter the reality of the virus and the fallout from their bad policies unchecked by any voices of dissent. The Left will fully own the disaster, just as they own the disaster in Afghanistan.

Censorship destroys trust.

Censorship by proxy doesn’t make it legal.

Google is either getting from or giving to the democrats in government orders on political positions to be taken. That makes them a government entity.
