Disaster in Afghanistan Will Follow Us Home

...

Now these arguments belong to the past. The war in Afghanistan isn’t just over. It’s lost. A few Americans may cheer this humiliation, and many more will shrug at it. But the consequences of defeat are rarely benign for nations, no matter how powerful they otherwise appear to be. America’s enemies, great and small, will draw conclusions from our needless surrender, just as they will about the frighteningly oblivious president who brought it about.

“. The war in Afghanistan isn’t just over. It’s lost.”.
It, Like Viet Nam were Never meant to be a winnable war. Simply a time delay where we got what we wanted and needed.
Viet Nam. Golf of Tonkin was filled with oil. We extracted it until nearly gone then left that war. At which we went in to the oil crisis.
Here in Afghanistan t here were and are RARE minerals we have tapped.
Got enough? Ok out of here.

That’s what struck me.

Pigs are flying. CNN and CBS went after him too.

Let’s be clear: winning wars is not hard for America. We have never failed at that.

Nation-building is hard, and we rarely win there.

We should have simply gone in, extracted Bin Laden, destroyed anything standing in our way, and left.

A few Americans may cheer this humiliation

The humiliation is having Biden in the White House. Failures like this one are just the expected consequence of it. You won't find anybody cheering around here.

I will cheer Biden’s humiliation. I hope he fails in every way, and the idiots who voted for him feel the shame.

Making things better rather than worse for America and her Allies is certainly something he will fail at, although I wish he would not fail at it--but its a vain wish for he has no interest in helping America or her Allies. He sees it as a virtue to despise what made America great.

But I will certainly share your hope that he fails in other endeavors that do not hurt innocent people when he fails, especially in getting his radical agenda implemented and succeeding with the censorship and propaganda and blame shifting for the misery he causes. And hope he fails at dodging being convicted of his graft and other crimes.

Since you’ve apparently read the article and it is from the New York Times after all, is the last sentence actually referring to Biden or is it Trump?

That was interesting to me, too.

Maybe this disastrous administration’s insane decisions have caused a shift in the wind in some other ‘oblivious’ minds.

Yes, I read the editorial and the last sentence is referring to Biden.

the frighteningly oblivious president who brought it about. ... This from the New York Times?!

Yes, very out of character for the NYT if they meant Biden, but I'm not so sure they meant Biden.

The NYT is working to have Biden replaced by Harris.
