A military base in Washington, DC, was put on lockdown Friday amid reports of “two armed individuals” — as brass warned the troops there to “prepare to FIGHT.
“LOCKDOWN LOCKDOWN LOCKDOWN,” Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling warned on Facebook on Friday afternoon.
“If you encounter the individual and have a safe route, RUN. If you do not have a safe route to run, HIDE,” the base said.
“Barricade your door, turn off the lights and your cell phone ringer, and remain silent. If you are hiding, prepare to FIGHT.”
The base initially reported one “potential armed individual,” describing him as a black man carrying a Gucci bag.
An update said there were actually reports of “two armed individuals” — one with dreadlocks and wearing ripped blue jeans, the other wearing green pants and a white top.

Taliban man
I think we left most of what we had behind in previous losses.
I’d have arrested him for the Gucci bag. Never carry a branded bag when committing a crime.
Honestly, I don’t know if I could “Shelter In Place” or run the other way. I’ve never been around someone with a gun who was aiming to kill people.
I have to do this BS corporate training where I work, and for an active shooter, they say if you see an active shooter, run the other way and escape or hide if you can.
I have no idea how I would react. I might well run away or hide. And that is what they want you to do.
But in my heart, if I saw someone with a weapon walking past me towards an area where some of my co-workers were, not knowing what was coming their way, I just feel that I could not leave them to their fate.
I feel in my heart, I would have to pursue and interfere in some way, I couldn’t just save my skin and allow them to be delivered into the hands of a beast.
I guess a person never knows what they will do. But I know that were I to run the other way...I would suffer with that knowledge for the rest of my life, and I feel in my heart...there are indeed things worse than dying.
That just feels to me like it would be one of them.
I wouldn’t be doing it to be a hero. I would be doing it to defend people who, over 30+ years, I have come to respect and if not like as friends, love as family.
And the concept of having military personnel on a military base running and hiding from a single person with a gun...that is repugnant and I reject it out of hand.
I know, with our military having become what it is, in many respects (but obviously not all) a soft, more feminine this-is-a-job oriented kind of place, it isn’t what I should expect, but...I still do.
Call me naive, out of touch, unrealistic, a dinosaur, whatever, but...I still do.
Matthew 24:4-8
4 Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you.
5 For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many.
6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.
7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.
8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.
Thank you!

This is why we MUST be ready for ANY type of incident.
We must decide WHAT we will (should) do BEFORE the possibility becomes an actuallity.
Now that you've decided, put some practice into it.
