Bye Bye American For my entire Freshman year in college, the fella who lived in the next dorm room would wake up to that blaring. Now, that was never in my wheel-house, so for about nine months, I thought the lyric was "Bye-bye, American Pie, drove my Chevy to the levy and my Mom is a Guy."
FWIW- the all time worst is Billy Joel's Piano Man.
I once nearly shoved my beloved son out the car door when that came up on his playlist.

That song came out two years after Seasons In The Sun. I remember both of them playing on the radio.
I thought Afternoon Delight was quirky, but I detested Seasons In The Sun. One was upbeat, the other was moribund.
Another quirky song from that same period was Popsicle Toes, by Michael Franks.
