Six people were killed in a mass shooting in the city of Plymouth in southwest England on Thursday evening, in an incident described by the British Home Secretary as "shocking".
Two females and three males, including the suspect, died from gunshot wounds at the scene of the incident, the Devon and Cornwall Police said in a statement. Another female died a short time later in hospital, the police added.
Sharron Turner, 57, who lives behind the scene of the shooting, told The Times newspaper that a gunman had "kicked in" the front door of a semi-detached house before shooting a young mother and her daughter, who was aged about five. Turner said she had been told that the man, who was dressed in black and grey, was armed with a semi-automatic weapon.
After the attack, the gunman escaped through a park behind the house and shot two dog walkers, The Times reported.

I was stationed there 1973-75. If was a wonderful place to serve. The big issue then was the IRA bombing London and Parliament. I traveled all over northern England and Scotland. Never had an problem.
The really weird thing is that the killer has no description whatsoever. He’s not of any height or weight, coloration, not from anywhere. Just a phantom with no identity. I guess it’s early yet.

That’s strange - the article said 6 people were killed, but it only mentioned 4 - a mother & daughter and 2 dog walkers. Who were the last 2?

Historically, Police in Great Britain never needed firearms (In Ireland, the Royal Irish/Ulster Constabulary and the Garda Síochána have always been armed.) because the “ordinary decent criminal” didn’t use them, even when they were legal and unregulated.
Don’t be swayed by the sensational stories. My sister and I visited in May of 2019.
Unfortunately, they do have problems with mohammedans, which will need to be addressed very soon, but my sister and I had no problems.
I felt like I was walking in a dream when we were in London. Seeing so many of the historical sites that I had learned about since childhood and riding in boats on the Thames left me breathless.
The countryside was breathhtakingly beautiful.
What truly astounded me was how I fell in love with the people. Such a treasure.
Prayers up for the people who were killed by this animal. So sad.
