The U.S. Embassy in Kabul is urging all Americans to leave Afghanistan "immediately," as the security situation in the country continues to deteriorate due to advances made by the Taliban in key provinces amid the U.S.'s troop withdrawal.
The embassy urged all U.S. citizens to vacate the country "using available commercial flight options." It said its ability to assist Americans in Afghanistan is "extremely limited" because of the security conditions and reduced staffing.
The embassy is offering repatriation loans to citizens who cannot afford to purchase an airline ticket.

20 years too late.......................
Vietnam replay.
Chalk up another Biden failure.
At this point I wonder when will they evac the Embassy.
I spent a little time at the embassy in Kabul when I was there from 2016-2018 as a civilian at the nearby, still remember that one new years party there for 2017.
Regardless I would have been long gone from that $hithole.
Wasn’t there a candidate back in 2008 who kept saying that Afghanistan was the good war……his name is on the tip of my tongue……hmmm..
They are only telling them to leave now?
They forgot about Vietnam?
And people have to be told??
While I in no way want to come off as at all being supportive of Biden, I think we can “Chalk up” the failure to GW Bush!!!!!
If you recall Donald Trump was going to pull us out until the neo-cons around him slowed his roll.
Once again, another failure in US policy that has killed and maimed thousands of brave American’s and cost trillions to eventually loose.
Korea, Viet Nam, Iran, Afganistan ... when will we ever learn to stop abusing our fellow citizens in follies we never intended on winning!
Personally I would like to round up every Neocon still living and send them to Kabul so they can witness up close and personally what they wrought.
Those folks are the real failures to America.
I voted for Donald Trump because I was tired of draft-dodging Ivy League globalist pr!cks running this nation’s foreign policy. Anyone who still thinks the invasion of Iraq was a good idea shouldn’t even be allowed to clean the toilets in the White House.
The United States should be isolationist by nature and interventionist in rare, exceptional cases. That's the only legitimate political stature for a country that is supposed to be built on the idea of limited government. A government that pisses away thousands of lives and trillions of dollars on military campaigns in Islamic sh!t-holes halfway around the world while facilitating an invasion of Third World peasants here at home has no moral claim on any loyalty from its citizens anymore.
Shades of Viet Nam. 😣
> Chalk up another Biden failure. <
You can’t blame Vietnam on Nixon or Ford. That debacle belongs to LBJ.
Likewise, you can’t blame Afghanistan on Obama, Trump, or Biden. That debacle belongs to George W. Bush.
And in many ways W was worse than LBJ. Bush had all the lessons of Vietnam right in front of him. But he ignored those lessons, and instead gave us Vietnam II.
Agreed.
We went into Afghanistan ostensibly to get Osama bin Laden. Once he was killed (allegedly) that mission was accomplished and we had no further reason to be there. All the rest has been ill advised nation building and mission creep. The current massacre is a tragedy but I don’t see where it would have been avoidable even with Trump in office. I do think he would have done it better, but in the end, the outcome would have been the same.
Our embassy should leave too. As our military withdraws we should destroy everything we built and salt the fields.
My dad flew Phantoms out of Da Nang in 1970. The only thing he said repeatedly about that experience over the next 47 years, until his death, was, “They wouldn’t let us win.”

IF you want to go deeper:
Blame Vietnam on Kennedy
Blame Afghanistan on Clinton
Blame Iraq on the first Bush
9/11 will be quite the sh*t show this year.
9/11/2021. Islamists do love their anniversaries.
