Sen. Rand Paul has once again called for Americans to resist mask mandates, lockdowns, and 'harmful' policies, even as another COVID scare makes its way through the Senate.
Paul, who this March became the first senator to contract COVID-19, urged Americans to refuse to comply with government restrictions – even as a spike in coronavirus infections driven by the Delta variant has states and localities reimposing measures like mask requirements for indoor establishments.
'They can’t arrest us all. They can’t keep all your kids home from school. They can’t keep every government building closed – although I’ve got a long list of ones they should,' he wrote in an op-ed.
'We don’t have to accept the mandates, lockdowns, and harmful policies of the petty tyrants and feckless bureaucrats. We can simply say no, not again,' wrote Paul, who argues that vaccines for the elderly and natural immunity through infection will provide necessary protections.
In his op-ed, which ran on the Fox News website, Paul rips into House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who cited the U.S. Capitol physician last week as the House put back in place indoor mask requirements (the rules are looser in the Senate, where more lawmakers are vaccinated). He accused her of being 'drunk with power.'
'Speaker Nancy Pelosi — you will not arrest or stop me or anyone on my staff from doing our jobs. We have all either had COVID, had the vaccine, or been offered the vaccine. We will make our own health choices. We will not show you a passport, we will not wear a mask, we will not be forced into random screening and testing so you can continue your drunk with power rein over the Capitol,' he wrote.

Hell no. He had COVID, recovered, and said he had natural immunity.
Weird experience at the doctor’s office yesterday. It’s a huge practice with a building that could easily be a medium sized hospital. The lobby was filled with elderly people looking terrified in their masks. I said to a woman checking me in, who, had just pulled up her mask as I approached, “When did the masks come back in?” She didn’t quite roll her eyes as she answered, “Today.” Sitting in the waiting room I got uncomfortable as these elderly people shied away like I was about to burst into flames. In the back not one nurse or doctor was wearing a mask.
Thing is, the stats from Israel, which are updated daily, say that the vaccines are not making a difference.
Resist the mask nazis. Tell them to take a hike.
If this was Trump saying this, ..., oh wait, Trump wants us to take *his* vaccine. Hey Rand, it’s got to be tough to make a call for action when nearly all of the troops are having none of it.
Naturally acquired immunity while less comfortable at the time is also stronger and longer lasting since it comes from fighting off a live virus rather then a dead or weakened one.

We had a weird hotel experience this weekend. Sunday it was breakfast buffet with hotel staff doling out the food. Monday it was self service buffet with masks AND gloves required for all hotel guests. These corps are just making it up as they go along. Pathetic, really.
