I already pay my fair share. I will deduct any mileage tax from my fed income tax. F the feds.

Pete Butt-head floated this “mileage tax” idea within hours of being nominated as the U.S. Transportation Secretary.
Joe Biden came out against it the following day because — as others have noted here — it is a highly regressive tax.

I’m fine with a reasonable tax load that pays for keeping proper infrastructure. We have that already. Federal gas tax at the pump. The key is to make everyone with electric vehicles pay the per mile surcharge.

That’s right. And their push for more fuel efficient cars has backfired on them in less gas tax revenues coming in.

They are not cell phones. They are personal transponders with access to your data of all types imaginable now and in the future. I strongly suggest those Faraday shielded bags to hold your phone and wallet.
Drive an old car. If going on longer trips rent a car.
For all of those chipped like a dog, your phone will go insane trying to locate you. They pair locate.

You know that fancy infrastructure bill the Republicans are helping them pass right now?
I read that 5% of the money will go to actual infrastructure.

Infrastructure is a very low priority for most people because they don't want to invest a penny in anything that's still going to be there after they are gone. Project much?
It couldn't possibly be because Americans know that government is the greediest, most corrupt and murderous force on Earth and that most of the money goes to lavish salaries, perks and pensions for the bureaucrats, could it?
There are thousands of government employees getting 6-figure pensions on the East and Left coasts.
In my own state the government slugs talk like you, but the reason we won't vote for another gas tax increase is because the previous increases have NEVER gone to roads. They go into the bureaucrat wet dream slush fund.
People aren't as stupid as you wish they were.

I wonder what kind of taxes they’ll want to impose on electric cars.

My take is that too many *billions* were siphoned off for ‘inner city mass transit’ that has **nothing** to do with highways but plenty yo do with political pork spending.
^ This If they spent the money the already get to maintain the infrastructure in place we’d have first class roads.

I remember that. This is all payback to the commie voters who want everyone on a bus, subway, bike, or on foot.

I can't imagine that all the newly-liberated work-from-homes are going to be anxious to go back to a daily commute. You may have hit on a bit of a conflict for them.
To get the mileage up they are going to have to declare "all clear" on the scamdemic.
That conflicts with using the delta sniffles as a scare tactic to continue breaking election laws with mass mail-in ballots, "drop off boxes," etc.
What to do, what to do?

It’s just like the Smart Meters...
If your car doesn’t have the Technology, you’ll pay to get it installed and certified, simple.
You pay, as always.
And the Republicans have sold us out again.

I know people who pay $25,000+ per year in property taxes, and they’re fine with it because they see a tangible value associated with it — namely, that 90% of that money goes to the local school district where their kids attend school.
If someone can afford $25K in property taxes they're kids attend private school. The U.S. spends the most per kid and gets the least in return. Our test scores are among the lowest in the developed world.

It couldn't possibly be because Americans know that government is the greediest, most corrupt and murderous force on Earth and that most of the money goes to lavish salaries, perks and pensions for the bureaucrats, could it? And yet — as I explain in my later post — they don’t seem to complain very much when they pay MUCH HIGHER taxes when it comes to other forms of taxation.

If someone can afford $25K in property taxes they're kids attend private school. Except that’s not how it works in many suburban towns in major metro areas like New York, Washington, etc. In those places, the “public schools” effectively ARE private schools — because the property taxes price all the Deplorables and riff-raff out of the school district.

Gas taxes should be paying for infrastructure. Where is the return on investment?
Its been re-directed into the "lockbox" for reparations. Thank you for your inquiry, cracka.
