“Alrighty then, I’ve changed my mind...NOT!“

It’s very easy to say that now. Plans like you describe tend to go away when you see violators lives completely ruined by having to spend every dime trying to stay out of prison . There are many real world examples of this effect. For many years our paper bills were very easy to counterfeit. How many people did it? Not many at all and we all know why.

Anyone want to revisit the libertarian idea of privatizing our entire road infrastructure?

Or will I just need to queue up another “I TOLD YOU SO” for after they ram this crap down our throats as well?

You are under the assumption we are still a Constitutionally limited Republic.

We haven’t been one of those since they ditched the Gold Standard and implemented an income tax.

I’m not assuming anything. What you describe is not gonna happen.
I’m just a small fish in a very big pond or lake, if you will. I can afford to say “F- that and F-them!’”.

I agree it's not going to happen. That is the tax per mile. If we are wrong however they will make the penalties for cheating so stiff no one will even think about doing it. That you can take to the bank.

The reason I commented is really just to make people aware that things like this MUST be stopped before they even get started. Sitting back in our chairs and saying I'll just find a way around it is a sure fire way to wake up in a commie nation where people who think that way end up in re education camps.

It's like the vaccine passport issue. Some people say, I'll just make a fake one. Ya right. The first thing these commies will do with a vaccine passport law is make it a felony with large mandatory prison sentences. Again this kind of thing MUST be stopped before it's implemented. In fact communism must be stopped before it ever gets in otherwise it's too late. We are utterly failing in that regard as few understand how communists work. This thread is a perfect example of why we are failing.

And “Severe Conservatives” in the Senate helped.

“That you can take to the bank.”

Yeah, the bank of their incompetence. We stand to benefit somewhat from the grossness of their errors!

I guess you and I should colaborate on a mileage tracing software hack/fix so we can make our driven miles appear de minimus.

I only drive 50 miles a year on my horse. How will they tax him?

I’m just going to redouble my efforts to keep my old vehicles running.

At some point, they will try to outlaw them, but by then We’ll most likely be in an active shooting war with our own Government and no one will notice.
