Thanks for the link. I won’t even enter a “city” larger than 100k. I was recently invited to a celebration of the Denver Marathon because I was a founding member years ago. I congratulated the committee for all their work but said I wouldn’t be attending because “Denver isn’t civilized anymore”. It was quite satisfying.

Son, I made multiple attempts to do just that. Nobody cared to stand up for force protection, even after I did the research and showed them that there are exceptions to the weapons policy (installation commander’s prerogative). So now I get to bitch.

Is there a vaccination for that?

These were breakout bursts of violence.

This shooting event worries more than the latest COVID Fear Porn.

One of the traditional opening moves in a modern (post 1900) coupe is to delegalize the government. The fastest way to do so is prove that it can not protect itself much less its citizens.

Thus it was in Cuba in the mid 1950s (Castro) and South Viet Nam (Vietmin/NVA).

Has it come here?

DC is a cesspool and full of weirdo’s.

It only looks nice because billions of tax dollars are pumped into that place may it be federal employees (16% of the entire adult population) and buildings, monuments, graves, museums, parks, etc.

If the federal money went away, DC would turn into a third world shithole overnight.

There are parts of DC that already are third world.

This story fell off the radar.

Doesn’t advance the narrative, I guess.

The news gets to choose what stories they run, when, for how long, and how they spin them. Look at some old news from the 1950s: “just the facts ma’am.” They REPORTED.

Today they JOURNAL, like on a blog. They create conflict even where there is none, because it’s conflict that sells the story. It needs to be written like a story, and of course all in first person like a novel to attract the reader (writing in third person and objective is no longer the style). The story is full of “feelings, perceptions, and speculation.”

Today there isn’t even an effort made to be objective, neutral, and to show both sides even if you do delve into something controversial where there obviously are two sides!

Look at the Cauvin case/trial as the perfect example. Not only was the entire media coverage one sided, even the trial was not based on facts, but feelings! The argument went like this: “how would you feel if it was your kid, look at how horrible that looks with his knee on his neck.” Fact, Floyd was resisting arrest. Fact, Floyd was using counterfeit money and there was more than enough probable cause. Fact, that form of restraint was not unauthorized. Fact, you cannot know if the officer had intent and he probably didn’t to kill Floyd. Fact, Floyd was on drugs and had an extensive and violent criminal record (something like 5 previous arrests): https://i2.wp.com/greatgameindia.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/George-Floyd-went-to-jail-for-atleast-5-times.jpg?w=634&ssl=1 Fact, Floyd was a big man, 6’6’’ and 223 lbs. The facts do not matter, only how people “feel” does, and that is because American society has changed. What we call justice today would not have been accepted in 1950 (today we would call that “racist” because it does not give the desired outcome irrespective of facts). Neither would a jury found him guilty, nor would a judge have accepted the way the trial went.

The facts do not matter in this new age where “science” tells us what to do. (sarc - hahaha)

Another example: https://thehill.com/policy/technology/566085-twitter-partners-with-news-services-to-fight-misinformation

There isn’t even an effort made anymore at being neutral and representing both sides to any story. Today, the MSM thinks they know the truth, or what you should know for your own good (example Covid and how the masses are steered), in the best interest of society... They feel there is nothing wrong when they censor ideas or facts, spin arguments intentionally to reach some idea of what they think is right and how people should see it. “Just the facts ma’am” reporting no longer exists, and censorship or filtering of ideas is completely acceptable because “we know best” for you. Government, schools, the MSM all do it, because today if you know man made Climate Change is real, there is no reason to confuse people with arguments to the contrary.

But the people are different too. Today, the idea of “moral relativism” has crept into thinking et al. and society has become secular. Judeo Christian values nor the US Constitution are the guiding force or idea around which society is organized.

We have adopted modern ethics where “situational dependent” inconsistencies are acceptable. It’s OK to discriminate against this person as long as it archives our equality and if they complain you use CRT to shut them up.

Math skills are weak, the mechanics of logic and pitfalls of fallacies are not taught in schools. In fact, schools themselves teach kids that feelings and perceptions are reality - “my reality is true.” I feel I’m a girl even though I am XY, because after all we “follow the science.” (sarc)

What do you expect? We are in very strange times.
