So an incident happened at a metro line where a police officer was killed. Pretty much is it.
Last time I was in DC, 2013, wife and I were eating lunch at a restaurant just down the street from the Capitol One Arena.
A beverage delivery truck pulls up across the street and suddenly 20 or so “youts” rush in and strip the thing clean. By the time the cops arrived, they were all gone. Waiter tells me they coordinate on their Obamaphones.
I had climate change violence on my bingo card.

The story was written in haste. The AP editors are still trying out how to work an AR-15-carrying White Supremacist into it.
Not likely soldiers. The powers that be don’t like for us (military types) to be armed at work. A few years ago I had to trudge back to my car in the C lot (through the tunnel, better than a quarter mile) to put my Boker folder back in the car. The whole time I was on duty station in the Army in Germany I had a loaded .45 in my desk drawer that, so far as I know, was not accountable to anyone, not checked out from the arms room, just there. It was an unaccounted piece of office equipment. I was an E-4 15E20 filling an S-2 clerk slot. My desk was the first thing you saw when you entered battalion HQ. I suppose if the Baader-Meinhoff gang came in the front door (we had armed gate guards) I was supposed to do something about it.
