Meatpacker Tyson Foods Mandates Vaccines for Workers

Tyson Foods Inc said on Tuesday it was mandating COVID-19 vaccinations for its entire workforce, joining a growing list of major U.S. companies as they face renewed pandemic restrictions due to the fast-spreading Delta variant. Surging COVID-19 cases and new guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that requires fully-vaccinated individuals to wear masks have led many companies to rethink their plans. Many of corporate America's biggest names have taken action following the CDC's guidance, including mask mandates from McDonald's Corp, Apple Inc and vaccination requirements by Walmart and Walt Disney. U.S. officials said on Monday COVID-19 cases, along with hospitalizations and deaths from the virus, have increased in the last week, even as vaccination rates have seen a pick up amid concern over the highly contagious Delta variant. The CDC said there were about 72,000 new COVID-19 cases per day in the United States as of Saturday, a 44% increase over the previous week and higher than the peak set in the summer of 2020. Tyson said on Tuesday its employees at U.S. office locations should be fully vaccinated by Oct. 1, while other locations have until November. It added that nearly half its U.S. workforce were vaccinated. Labor unions and meat companies have been pushing states to increase the pace of vaccine rollout in the food sector to protect workers and avoid supply-chain disruptions from COVID-19 outbreaks, such as closures of slaughterhouses last year.

I never buy tyson. I think it’s dirty.

I buy whatever’s on sale. It all tastes the same because it’s all raised with the same feed. The only chicken that doesn’t taste the same is the farmer’s market type that are truly free range raised. And since it’s about $5 a pound, I can’t afford it, much as I’d like to. I’ve thought about raising my own, but I don’t think I’d do too well at the killing and processing chores. I don’t think there are any chicken processors around here who would do it for me.

It’s all how it’s handled and/or tortured. Bloody, oversized breasts...no thanks
I’ll buy from local farmers, I know.

There's not much legally you can do given Tyson Foods is a private company. 🤷‍♂️

The Somalis and Mexicans in all of those cities need to be placed back into their home countries. Get rid of the illegals.

Its garbage. But thanks.

RNA viruses mutate like crazy. I had this in college!😂

It is the antivaxxers who are performing as Incubation media for the viruses to mutate.

Get some real science under your belt.

I am currently visiting the beach on the DelMarVa Peninsula. Chicken factories were early hotspots for Covid spring and summeNr last year. I strongly suspect that Vitamin D deficiency was a factor in these indoor workers most of whom were darker skinned blacks and Latinos. Now the entire Virgina portion of the peninsula is being labeled a high risk area.

Well it is nasty but you get use to it. I was raised with a
house with layers. No free range, thus the poop gets deep.
And I helped butcher chickens for meat to make sandwiches for
a retail travel stop my family owned. It took me many years
before I would eat chicken other than fried to a crisp.

Actually, after I wrote that, I looked on line, and there’s a chicken processor that processes birds and rabbits, of any amount, for home growers. And it’s only about 60 miles away. Now, to get my husband to agree to raise a few...

Chat with a relative the other day, discussing meat sources .... for chickens you can process up to 1000 yourself and sell them without having a permit/license (in our state - not sure what regs are in other states). That’s a lotta’ chix.

Wrong. When my employer required the vaccine in April, they were very specific that if anyone had an adverse reaction, it would be covered by workers comp. And my health insurance sent a notice that any reaction was covered by our insurance.

But nobody had a bad reaction. Worse was getting laid up for 2 days.

If you work for Tyson, here is the answer (From a friend’s message to me):

If you are being forced to Vax in order to keep your job, here’s a great way to handle it.
The secret is NOT to refuse it…
A friend in the NHS is being pressured to take the jib.
‘I write with regard to the matter of potential covid vaccine and my desire to be fully informed and appraised of ALL facts before going ahead.
I’d be most grateful if you could please provide the following information, in accordance with statutory legal requirements:
1. Can you please advise me of the approved legal status of any vaccine and if it is experimental?
2. Can you please provide details and assurances that the vaccine has been fully, independently and rigorously tested against control groups and the subsequent outcomes of those tests?
3. Can you please advise of the full list of contents of the vaccine I am to receive and if any are toxic to the body?
4. Can you please fully advise of all the adverse reactions associated with this vaccine since it’s introduction?
5. Can you please confirm that the vaccine you are advocating is NOT ‘experimental mRNA gene altering therapy’?
6. Can you please confirm that I will not be under any duress from yourselves as my employers, in compliance with the Nuremberg Code?
7. Can you please advise me of the likely risk of fatality, should I be unfortunate to contract Covid 19 and the likelihood of recovery?
Once I have received the above information in full and I am satisfied that there is NO threat to my health, I will be happy to accept your offer to receive the treatment, but with certain conditions - namely that:
1. You confirm that I will suffer no harm.
2. Following acceptance of this, the offer must be signed by a fully qualified doctor who will take full legal and financial responsibility for any injuries occurring to myself, and/or from any interactions by authorized personnel regarding these procedures.
3. In the event that I should have to decline the offer of vaccination, please confirm that it will not compromise my position and that I will not suffer prejudice and discrimination as a result?
I would also advise that my inalienable rights are reserved.’
The point being though, is that they CANNOT provide that information but you’ve NOT refused…

Their chicken is lower quality

I prefer Perdue or honestly....I’ll pay for bell and evans....Jayne Mansfield breasts

Sanderson has decent bird too

But Tyson is not good quality...

Overall I think best chicken is Jamaican scrabble

Raised totally in the yard of scratch

Sorta tough but so flavorful

The FEDGOV can’t force you to take the jab so they’ll get their allies in private business to mandate it.

What percentage of people will quit instead of taking the jab and then will they be able to get another job after.

Shortly, I’m going to be forced to get tested every two weeks because I refuse to get the jab. Only 7 months to retirement.
