Biden needs Congress to extend federal evictions ban after top court ruling

The White House confirmed Thursday that President Biden will allow a federal eviction moratorium to expire on Saturday, but said he wants Congress to pass new protections due to the spread of the Delta variant of COVID-19.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Biden’s hands are tied by a recent Supreme Court decision that found there would need to be congressional authorization to extend a CDC-imposed ban on evictions beyond July 31.

“Given the recent spread of the Delta variant … Biden would have strongly supported a decision by the CDC to further extend this eviction moratorium,” Psaki said in a statement.

CDC has no authority over evictions. Get over it diaper boy. I fell so sorry for small landlords. Losing their shirt because of the CDC and Government.

This is why the SC didnt rule on the case. IT was set to expire so let it be they said..now Biden will extend, and it will have to be brought again to the SC. meanwhile, landlords are eating shit.

They want to get rid of the rest of the landlords who survived being financially destroyed.

The moratorium was illegal when Trump instituted it.

It’s illegal now.

It would STILL be illegal if passed by Congress and signed by POTUS.

Each one is weaker, politically. They were rioting in Australia over renewed lockdowns. They are out of ammo. This thing won’t continue to play well for them because, honestly, the worst is over. And for most people - the gross majority - it was a nothingburger.

Though some younger people liked to wear fashionable masks, even if they looked stupid to those of us who understand mask efficacy. ;)

Everyone hates the landlord. So it’s easy for politicians to help the little guy by sticking it to the landlords. But landlords have bills too. And mortgages. Eventually without rent coming in, they go into default. And Biden’s family and his donors are waiting to snap up the flood of real estate at rock bottom prices, no doubt.

Nice of some bureaucrat nobody knows or elected to just decree everyone in America to stop paying rent, for whatever reason or no reason at all. Landlords? They get to pay for COVID's housing decrees or go bankrupt. Fk them.

Some people are getting fkd over bad. My tenants know not to ever even TRY this... for any number of reasons; one being they'd be eating the curb at my very next convenience.

The Federal Government is paying people more than they can earn, if they go back to work.

Hence many fast food companies offering over $15.00 per hour and signing bonuses. That’s $31,200 per year.

At the same time they can’t be evicted for non payment.

Owners have to maintain properties, pay insurance, pay property taxes, pay loan payments, and in some cases pay utilities etc.

If the owners can’t pay for the above items their property can be taken by the county government for non-payment of property taxes.

Once the government owns all property, they have established a communist dictatorship in which the governmnet owns all property, and those individuals living in those propeties are slaves of the state.

Congress just recessed to take their two month vacation. Looks like broke renters are out of luck.

Landlords are making out like bandits. They are getting more reliable rent from the government than they did from renters.

Don’t fool yourself into believing this is coming out of the pocket of landlords because many in Congress own huge amounts of rental properties.

This is meant to destroy the economy and keep people from needing to work.

Ridiculous that the CDC can or could ever do this.

Watch this die as we go into an election year. The nation will not tolerate more lockdowns, masking and fear at the polls.

But the fraud will ensure the communists keep the Senate. They will lose the House.

Statewide races will be won mostly by the communists, so expect more communist governors, attorney generals and secretaries of state. In states that elect State Supreme Court Justices, expect the communists to gain ground.

House races and local races will go to the GOP. The national divide will be greater than ever.

Those new communist governors will need the next “emergency” to consolidate power over the legislatures.

There was a lot of talk this morning about how a tiny fraction of the money set aside to help with rent has been used. So apparently people don’t want to pay rent, and don’t want to go through the trouble of applying for help to cover the rent they don’t want to pay.
