Businesses don’t pay taxes, and never have. Ever. People pay taxes.
It’s vitally important that when a company reaches a certain size that it be able to avoid the taxation that smaller companies face. It ensures that competition in all sorts of markets is limited, and that the large always beat the small, thanks to clever accountants.
After Biden has his butt wiped again, I’m sure he will figure this on out.

By the way, who would benefit the most from this scheme? Well, that would be Red China. Western goods would get more expensive while Chinese companies would just pretend to follow the rules.
Why is Ireland recognized as an independent nation when it’s just a colony of the U.K.?
Yes, the mere United States is not nearly a large enough domain for Joe Biden. To constrain his great brain to such a limited policy space is a waste of his powers as a universal leader. Tax policy for the entire World is more his size, as it was for his Democrat predecessor, the great Obama.

This being said, the sole purpose of this global minimum tax is to pay for increasing socialism and socialist control over economies.
Internationalist corporationists, who imagine a world run by corporations, and see socialism solely as a means for workers to pay for their own medical care and retirement, so that corporations don’t have to, otherwise seeing socialists as mentally deficient, are also in favor of this GMT.
By the way, if you want to see life as run by corporations, the futuristic movie “Rollerball” (1975), depicted that idea in all its disgusting glory.
