Why is Ireland recognized as an independent nation when it’s just a colony of the U.K.?

Thems fighten' words...

Biden = One World Government

Oh, and don't forget Biden asking the United Nations of Third World Sh*tholes to investigate America for "racism".

Corporations do not pay taxes. Their customers pay the taxes. The consumer.

Hope that was simple enough for a woke Progressive mind.

....the country has successfully attracted hordes of global businesses with a corporate tax rate of just 12.5%, compared to 21% in the United States and 19% in the United Kingdom....

Point of historical information! Prior to 2017 the corporate tax rate in the United States was 35%. Donald Trump and the Tax Cut Job Act changed it that year against total Democratic Party resistance.

Also of current note is Ireland's fight with the European Union (EU) over its long standing Apple HQ & that tax deal. Apple agreed to put much of its European HQ in economically distressed Ireland (post 2008 bank crisis) for a limited time lower tax.

If they don’t want to be called that, they shouldn’t act like it. They are a bunch of soup eaters.

It is amazing to me that most dont understand that simple statement. Businesses operate on an expected profit margin, when their costs(taxes) go up the increase is passed to the consumer and the profit reemains the same. Good call redness

How does anyone come in close contact with Biden? All those electric currents springing from his huge brain must be very disconcerting. Imagine all that knowledge holed up in one man, man.

Good for Ireland! Who the hell are the Pantload Kid and the other globalist heads of state to presume to tell any other nation what their corporate tax rate should be?

For some demented reason I’m thinking about the scene from Blazing Saddles where they’ll take anyone but the Irish.

What did I say that’s inaccurate?

The Republic of Ireland is an independent country which consists of most of the island of Ireland. It is not part of the UK. The Republic of Ireland is the country this article is about.

There's a small bit of the island of Ireland that is part of the UK; that's Northern Ireland, but it's not the country this article is about. (And even it is not a colony; it's an integral part of the UK, which stands for the "United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland".)

Read what I wrote. "Why is Ireland recognized as an independent nation when it’s just a colony of the U.K.?"

That refers to the Republic of Ireland, which is in an independent country. At least officially. I am saying that is waste since they have Stockholm Syndrome and have been abandoned being Irish, to basically become the people who tried to commit genocide against them.

Northern Ireland is a colony.

Remember IN 1947, India was a colony of the U.K. and then achieved independence. [To be fully accurate, some parts of India were still colonies of Portugal and France after 1947, but the majority was a British colony, then became independent]

The United Kingdom wanted to keep outpost/s in India, after 1947, but India said no. The same thing happened in Africa, the U.K. was not able to hold onto their former colonies. Even Commonwealth nations like Jamaica are independent.

But in Ireland, the U.k. was able to maintain part of the island as a colony. Presumably, because the rest of the world doesn't view Irish people as fully human as Africans ad subcontinentals, etc.

In short, the British empire had to leave behind their colonies. But not Ireland. If African people were native to Ireland, there would be no Northern Ireland today.

Stretching a point maybe? After all, the Republic of Ireland is staying in Europe — no Brexit for them. (And they do seem to be trying to stand up for their sovereign right to decide their own national tax structure, but we’ll have to wait to see how that works out.)

Well, this isn’t about Northern Ireland, it’s about the Republic of Ireland. (But even there, Northern Ireland isn’t legally a colony — they have their own MPs in the British Parliament, for instance. But it’s true that the unification of Northern Ireland with Britain is a relic of colonialism, so it’s certainly a tricky question.)

Hang tough, Ireland!

There's enough money to buy off every single Irish politician involved. Would they sell out their own country? Look at American politicians re: china.
