It seems some people just want to sh*t on anything PDJT made better and, in this case, align it with their disdain for the military.
You may be able to make a case for protecting older veterans but color me VERY skeptical.
This is reasonable. The VA is full of old and fragile people with tons of known vulnerabilities re covid. Anyone working with them should have been vaccinated long since, as is usual around the world in such cases. Medical “front liners” (including those who work in nursing homes, etc.) are generally first in line for vaccination, for good reasons.
And this goes for flu vaccines too, as that is a primary or contributing cause of death for old people, which should be obvious to anyone who looks at mortality charts.
This is along the lines of mandated hygiene, hand-washing, sterilization of instruments, etc.
Guess the resident wants to put the VA back to obunghole days again:-(
There are reasonable concerns re covid vaccines. Nearly all of them pertain to long term effects, which could not be tested for, in the very short time this has been possible. The greatest danger of long term problems is developmental issues with children and fertile women (when or if they get pregnant; lots of these long term problems, notorious cases such as with Thalidomide and DES, but there is a growing research base on all sorts of other cases, that manifest in pregnancy), so these people should have been excluded from vaccination from the beginning.
But even so, they should not be working in VA facilities or nursing homes, etc.
The VA vaccinated me back in January and February. This makes sense to me. Vaccines are one of the true medical miracles I can’t imagine what life today would be like without the small pox, polio, tetanus and other vaccines, on thing is for sure though a lot of the old farts alive today would have been dead long ago without them...
Refusing to be vaccinated because of one’s politics seems to me to be a IQ test in disguise...
Today I made the decision after 12 years in ancillary support of healthcare to leave the industry. The direction HC is headed is not compatible with my religious beliefs nor my moral standards.
It is true that HC has been in the sewer for some time now. The money is good but it rots the soul. Like almost every industry it is compromised by evil, greedy megalomaniacs.
I expect to see a cascade of these mandates in the next 60 days. The dam is about to break and if you’re in the field you had better have a life preserver!

And at the same time, thousands of veterans continue to wait for appointments that are weeks to months away; physicals for disability takes up to years!! I know this is true because it took me 20 years to defeat the stinking VA. I kept getting denied and I had to appeal to the Board of Veteran Appeals in Sodom on the Potomac. When you file your appeal, it takes anywhere between 3 to 5 years for the board to get to your case. Mine took 4. They came back that the local VA needed to do further investigation. I went to an exam at the Seattle VA office on a Saturday!!! The doctor there was some wanna-be a doctor. He was in the room with me and his exam lasted LESS THAN THREE MINUTES!!! He tapped my knee with that little red hammer a couple of times, lifted my arm up and told me to drop it. And said he would file his report and left!!! My wife and I were sitting there, mouths open, going what the hell just happened???!!! Again I was denied by the Seattle VA Office. AGAIN I appeal!!! This time it took three years. This time I WON!!! The Board just flat said they got it wrong, that the evidence of my exam was a farce, that my military health records backed up all my claims and awarded me 70% disability!!! The stinking Seattle office was POed. But who gives a tinkers damn, I won. But the VA continues to do this to we veterans today. A guy that I know local, a vet injured in Iraq, has been fighting the VA for years. Same crap. WHY DO WE NEED PEOPLE like the Wounded Warriors Group??? ISN’T the stinking VA suppose to take care of these wounded veterans??? Ain’t that their stinking job???? Must not be anymore since we need Wounded Warriors to help all these injured vets. Yeah, I don’t like the VA. The mess out in Arizona a few years back when all those vets died waiting for stinking appointments!! Yeah, I don’t like the VA.
The workers should all get together and walk out together.
It’s hard enough to get people to fill open jobs at McDonalds. How will the VA fill staff shortages in nurses and doctors?
