Despite Ellzey gains, Wright still favored to win Tuesday’s special election in Texas (tomorrow)

Texas State Rep. Jake Ellzey, one of two candidates in tomorrow’s special election runoff in Texas’ 6th Congressional District, has significantly narrowed the gap between himself and presumed frontrunner Susan Wright in the race to succeed Wright’s late husband, some political observers in the region told JI. But, analysts say, Wright is still likely to come out on top.

The Dallas-area seat has been open since early February, when Rep. Ron Wright (R-TX) died of COVID-19 complications. Wright finished first in the all-candidate, all-party special election on May 1 with 19% of the vote to Ellzey’s 13.8%.

“Susan Wright is still the favorite, but this race is much closer and more competitive, and more uncertain than a lot of people thought,” Matthew Wilson, a political scientist at Dallas’ Southern Methodist University told Jewish Insider. “Ellzey is probably the stronger of the two candidates, just in terms of background and experience and candidate skills. He has picked up some important local endorsements, to kind of counterbalance the Trump endorsement of Susan Wright. And so I think this really is a race that could go to either candidate.”

No dog in this fight - not my district, but I do live in the DFW area.

Hopefully Susan Wright turns out to be less of a smarmy idiot than her late husband was. He was less than competent when he was the Tarrant County Tax Assessor-Collector.

Still better than the idiot Democrats, either way.

I encouraged Eisley to take this position when he sent his send me $$$

NO BORDER PROTECTION WALLS TORN DOWN
What are the effects? Conservative news sources better be reporting Criminal activity and costs to the locality caused by those who should be referenced as the INVADERS because the term “illegals” has been banned.THEN RAISE THE ISSUE IF AMERICANS WERE DOING THIS TO MEXICO WHAT WOULD HAPPEN ?? ALSO POINT OUT THE 2ND CLASS TREATMENT AMERICANS GET IN MEXICO
It is time we reassert our; pardon my using what that one worlder’s call a cussword, SOVEREIGNTY, and consider applying RECIPROCITY. Give the the same treatment an American gets in Mexico The Demorat party ignores what any any citizen of America gets in Mexico .Illegal or legal enty by a Gringo ?No Mexican tax money goes into free legal assistance, paid motel rooms for sneaking in, or subsidized living as well as free medical assistance all not being paid at the expense of the average struggling working tax paying Mexicans .

.Our border with Mexico has always been contentious not only with smugglers but on ocassion with Mexican bandits and military using Mexican Claims ,Allowing potential hostiles to the US property ownership to happen in those states could lead to serious problems in the future. There are constant claims that crop up by Mexican politicians that some of our southwestern states are Mexican territory.
.What Yahoo and CNN and the alphabetical swill mills won’t report this; Here’s aMexican Senator who recently said Mexico should take back states;
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-mews/3754791/posts Mex House speaker http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3756257/posts

Worse yet Huge ammounts of taxpayers funds are being given to illegals through taxes which are being passed on to our children’s children along with jobs which should be going to black Americans property ownership by illegal (another word banned ) is used in states which Mexico has previously claimed espcially Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, Colorado and of course California .That could be used to support any reclaiming effort should regime changes in Mexico arise . Our border with Mexico has always been contentious not only with smugglers but on ocassion with Mexican bandits and military problems which General Black Jack Pershing put down.

What never gets mentioned is that 2nd class treatment Americans get in Mexico in all of this Our allowing the hordes illegally entering the US through the Mexican border and granting them rights American cannot recieve in Mexico even when legally migrating there. We have avoided recognizing and dealing with the 2nd class treatment that American citizens get which is in their constitition while legally residing in Mexico. That includes denial of voting privileges but employment, and land ownership in their name.

.It’s time we consider illegal entry by any person who is a non Mexican citizen illegally entering the United States through the US Mexican border a defacto Mexican citizen with limited Mexican constitutional rights subject to their laws while transiting. As well as any Mexican citizen entering illegally exempting those who do so legally and meet US citizenship requirements.

. If we applied that reciprocal policy . Would that continue ? By.prohibiting and strictly enforcing existing laws prohibiting any illegal entrant employment, voting, and land ownership privileges fully enforced these problems would drop loke a rock. .In other words Once we remove the incentives to Sneak into this country before expulsion no job no voting no landowning this stuff would stop.

If what I read in the article is accurate, this is a special run off election, where the demonRATs got knocked off in the elimination round and these two pubbies are head to head.

If that is true, and since I don't know either one and have no way of predicting their future actions, I really don't care.

Ellzey and Rick Perry and the NRCC have sent me some of the most dishonest fundraising solicitations I have even seen.

The NRCC has lost ALL credibility with me.

We fought a revolution to stop hereditary political leadership via the Constitution. Many seem to want to return to it.

I have received in my snail mail an expensive Susan flyer every single mail day for at least 6 weeks. My doorbell revealed another kid on foot with Susan expensive flyers and “Vote for Susan”

I can’t imagine how much money she has spent. When she talks you can hear her desperation to win this race. Now I always voted for Ron Wright, her husband. But I can see no qualifications she has for this except her husband’s name.

How is it the spouse of a politician thinks they have a right to be elected should that spouse die? Because of Trump, I planned in the beginning to vote for Susan; instead I early voted for Jake. Susan wants this too desperately IMO.

Sympathy vote. Used to be they’d elect the widow to a seat so she’d serve just to the end of that term, allowing time for other (qualified) candidates to begin to campaign for the next election. It was considered poor form for a potential candidate to jump ahead and run against the widow rather than wait for the next regular election.

It’s because of name recognition. Dumb/senile/low info voters will keep voting for the same name.

It’s so common that there was a 1992 Eddie Murphy movie that used that as a major plot device, The Distinguished Gentleman.” It is actually rather funny.

Wives only rarely inherited thrones.

In any case, Elizey appears to be a RINO and is being pimped by Rick Perry to such an extent one would think they’ve lovers.

Look’s like Perry’s boyfriend is winning. I hope he’s not as bad as the Club for Growth says.

Some good news, conservative choice Brian Harrison beat ex-State Rep and teacher’s union supported RINO John Wray in the runoff for Ellzey’s vacated State House seat. Ellzey endorsed Wray.

There are “rumors” about why Wray didn’t run for reelection in 2020 but I can’t find out what they are, something sex-related with him or his wife I think.

As much as I loathe liberals, they had a valid point: Rick Perry doing a ‘traditional marriage’ ad while dressed up like the gay cowboy from Brokeback Mountain didn’t really work...
