Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell on Wednesday vowed to kill a $1 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill and accused Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer of 'playing games' by scheduling the vote.
‘Today that Democratic leader appears to be and count on calling a vote he knows will fail,' McConnell said in remarks on the Senate floor. 'It will fail. Around here we typically write the bills before we vote on them. That is the custom.’
Republicans have complained they will not vote for a bill before it is written. The bipartisan group negotiating the measure - which funds traditional infrastructure projects like roads, bridges and water ways - is finalizing the details of the legislation and how it will be paid for.

McConnell knows the ins and outs. He also knows that if this bill passes with the 60 votes, the Dems will use reconciliation on “The Big One”.

(2013, RCV 206) Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky voted to end debate and allow Senate Democrats to re-insert funding for ObamaCare into the Continuing Resolution to fund the federal government. Although McConnell did vote against the final bill, he and all Republicans knew that voting for cloture to end debate would allow Senator Harry Reid to fund ObamaCare by a party-line vote, and thus a vote for cloture was a de facto vote to fund ObamaCare.
I thought for sure the GOP would help pass this bill, all THEIR payoffs are in it.
And it is the budget reconciliation vehicle for the $3.5T super bill.

I remember when Nancy Pelosi said passing a bill was necessary to find out what’s in it. At the time, I thought it was the stupidest thing a politician ever said. Did she think we wouldn’t understand it? I think it was her who didn’t understand, or...ever has. Some of these people need to be horse-whipped! Then again, the first whipping might not take.
