This does affect the pool of possible future blood donors, with a premium on the ones who did not receive the ‘jab’. THE only data worthy of scaring the people is (a) NOT how many “new cases” are from the Delta variant, but ONLY (b) is the demographics of who is getting a Delta variant infection widely different by age group and co-morbidity factors than the original variant, and (c) are hospitalization rates higher with the Delta variant than the original variant, and (d) are hospitalization rates greatly higher, and (e) are deaths of folks with a Delta variant infection higher than with the original variant, and (f) are deaths due to the Delta variant rising.
If (b) is no, and (c) is no, and (d) is no, and (e) is no, and (f) is no, the it really does not matter that there are more “new cases” with the Delta variant.
Every year it is new variants pf the seasonal flu bugs that cause most of the new flu season’s infections. What massive scare tactics due they roll out against the population with that fact each year? Very little other the general un-hyped recommendations to get a flu vaccine, which many people never do and never have (like me). I am sure i have head a case or more of the flu and my body’s immune system has always handled it, and improved its antibodies along the way.
