I recall watching in an NRA infomercial some years back an interview with a South African black leader and he said that he and other black leaders wanted (after the end of the apartheid regime in 1994) to be given the same legal access to firearms that the whites always had had. Instead, the ANC (under Mandela) basically banned guns for all of the citizenry.

Outside of some US cities, I don't see how South Africa is a valid comparison with the US.
South Africa’s tribal differences among blacks, and resentment against whites, is multiplied by its one-party, Marxist state, a huge and corrupt welfare state, total dependency of the lower classes, and a national ethos of racial and economic victimhood.
Its really just a much larger version of Chicago or Philadelphia.
My county is 98% white. I don’t think we are going to see any of this. I imagine most of the 1.5% black folks have a white parent or grandparent.

If there is violence it will be because the “civil rights” people, such as they are now, have led people down a broad road that leads to destruction.

All the while I am driving a 2007 car, struggling to make home repairs, to pay for essentials, to cope with rising taxes, the rising cost of mu OWN insurance, etc.
How can you demand more if I am paying for the food you eat, for the roof over your head, for your doctor treatment, for your education, etc. .... did I miss a spot??

There is a common thread to the riots and destruction in the USA. I can’t quite put my finger on it.
The lesson to be learned is that savages can be put in a civilized place, but they will continue to practice the ways of the savages, rather than learn how to live as civilized people.
Well, step #1 in saving SA would be "wrecking democracy", maybe the rioters are doing the Lord's work...

When rioting happens that threatens people and property or looting following natural disasters, people pull together to protect their neighborhoods and property with firearms. Whether is is people outside New Orleans sitting in folding chairs with shotguns and signs saying looters will be shot or Korean businessmen during the Watts riots standing guard on the rooftops of their stores, people will step up.
If Democrats continue to reduce police budgets, soon we will see neighborhood vigilance committees being formed. It is just a proud tradition in the Western US going back a long time.
