At least four people were injured by the gunfire, police say, in a drive-by shooting outside of the park's third base gate.
Two of the victims were transported to hospital via ambulance conscious and breathing.
Another two walked into area hospitals to be treated for gunshot wounds. Their conditions are not known at this time.
One of the victims appears to be a Nationals Park employee, NBC 10 reports.

Hopefully no fatalities. Will they ramp up ballpark security, so people aren’t afraid to go to the ballpark?

Bad neighborhoods are all there are in DC. There is particularly evil one around Pennsylvania Ave.

The entirety of DC has become a bad neighborhood. I wouldn’t venture to the Navy Yard area, now.
That’s where a Pakistani immigrant cab driver was killed a while back - when teenaged girls(!) tried to steal his car.
2013 nr Nationals Park, 12 shot by a gunman in Navy Yard.The gunman was then killed by policre.
I wonder how many police we have today who are willing to stick their necks out.

How’s that defunding the police thing working out? And aren’t guns basically illegal in DC?

Where were the social workers?
Not a particularly bad neighborhood. South Capitol Street, by the Navy Yard. (Some people jokingly suggested that they get Old navy to be the corporate sponsor, so the place could be the Old Navy Yard.)
However, it is pretty much on the Anacostia River. Across the river is Audi Field, the soccer stadium. It’s in a worse neighborhood than Nationals Park.
