A Portland man is being hailed as a hero for disarming and restraining an active shooter who fired 29 gunshots at an apartment complex in Oregon.
Luke Stolarzyk launched into a heated argument with his neighbor over a dog barking around 1:15 a.m. June 29, according to the Oregonian. Stolarzyk reportedly was belligerent toward Kenneth Nelson, a fellow resident of the Stephens Creek Crossing apartments. Stolarzyk allegedly abruptly left the confrontation but only to return with an AR-15.
Stolarzyk, who was "visibly intoxicated," then fired nearly 30 rounds indiscriminately into the apartment building in southwest Portland, court documents say. Bullets hit the apartment buildings and cars in the area. Resident Peroz Khoshnaw said she was on her knees praying once the flurry of gunshots rang out. Several bullets shattered the windows of her home.
Neighbor John Dickson snuck up on the gunman from behind and bashed him with a stick, KATU reported. Dickson wrestled the gun away from Stolarzyk and punched the suspect until he was knocked unconscious.
"He knocked the guy out," Misty Garrett, a resident of the complex, told the Portland Tribune. "It took a long time for the police to show up here. During that time, another guy joined in trying to tie him up and beat him up."

The shooter probably had a 30 round magazine and after emptying it was fumbling around trying to reload.
It is horrible to listen to a non-stop barking dog. But this guy is crazy and has no regard for life.
My guard dog barks. Often.
I know exactly which neighbors are in their yards. The raccoons, stray cats, possums and creepers flee. WHO’S A GOOD DOG!?!
I quiet her down when it gets endless, BUT this is the same dog who will alert when real trouble comes and eat your face off.
They’re dogs. They do what good dogs do.
Complete inappropriate reaction by a drunk. Odds are this loser blasts his partying music at off hours and too loud.
Never bring an AR-15 to a sneak-up-from-behind-him-and-bash-him-in-the-head-with-a-stick fight.

“Thank you for calling the PPD. Due to City Council mandated staffing changes, wait time is approximately 56 minutes. We’d like to remind Portland residents self defense is illegal and will be prosecuted.”
Lucky the shooter wasn’t black. You know he’d be toast if he was.
An obnoxious neighbor let his outside dog bark all night.
He did not do anything to stop it after I spoke with him about it.
For a week after every time that dog barked I would go outside and let out a loud SHHHH! then toss a lit black cat towards his pen.
By the end of the week all I had to do was SHHH! and dog would shut up and go inside his doghouse. After few days of that he went inside anytime he saw me and finally quit barking altogether.
