China claims Japan ‘digging its own grave’ if it joins US in defense of Taiwan

The Chinese Communist Party is warning Japan that it will be “digging its own grave” if the country sides with the US to defend Taiwan in the event of an invasion — adding Japan is “powerless against the Chinese military.”

“Japan does not dare to confront China alone. If Japan involves itself in the Taiwan question militarily, it will be Japan digging its own grave,” said an op-ed published Wednesday in the Communist Party mouthpiece Global Times.

“Japan’s military capability is completely restrained by the US and does not have an independent combat capability. It is easy for the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) to paralyze the attack capability of the Japanese Self-Defense Forces. Japan itself is powerless against the Chinese military,” said the article, written by Song Zhongping, a Chinese military expert and TV commentator.

The op-ed said China would view Japan as a threat if it assisted US forces.

“If Japan cooperates with the US to carry out military actions against China, especially over the island of Taiwan or Diaoyu Islands, Beijing will view the move as engaging in a military conflict with China. In this sense, Japan will become the target of China’s military strike. This will endanger Japan’s survival,” Song wrote.

The piece was written in response to comments made by Japanese Deputy Prime Minister Taro Aso at a fundraising dinner for a fellow lawmaker Monday evening.

Am I the only person who thinks Japan should be more judicious in their threats to neighboring countries?

China would not be so bellicose if Trump were still our President.

“Communism has utterly FAILED everywhere it’s been tried.”

That’s why it constantly has to take new territory to support the old failed territories. Eventually the entire planet will be a failed state if communism is not destroyed by a World War.

Nothing would make me happier than to watch Japan’s secretly developed weapons systems slice and dice all those useless surface ships that China has built over the past 10 years.

I remember speculating about what Clinton had promised the ChiComs that fell through in 2016 when she lost.

Given how Rocket Man was acting I pondered that he was going ahead with his part in any scheme in hopes of getting something he’d have otherwise got from Clinton.

Clinton was probably promised a great diplomatic win to give her a legacy. In addition to money, of course.

And at the time it seemed that the ChiComs expected to get concessions, probably related to the South China Sea or the Korean pennesula.

At the time I didn’t think they were going for Taiwan just yet.

Without Clinton they’ve managed to advance their agenda at sea. Now they’re going after Taiwan.

I’m wondering, besides cash of course, what Biden and the Democrats are gonna get in exchange for helping them?

No, they haven’t. Those sores are still very real in China. Not so much in Japan where education about WWII is non-existent.

China’s “Army” is a political organization and sworn to the CCP. It spends more time in indoctrination sessions than combat training. The last time they tried to invade anyone they got their butts handed to them. The Indians just handed them their tushes on the border clash. Taiwan would not be anything like easy pickings. an amphibious assault is one of the most difficult military operations imaginable. The only reason D-Day succeeded was that 80% of the German Army was in Russia.

China is trying to get Taiwan to surrender without a fight. The traitorous RATs in the white house will help them.

What would be the disadvantage for Japan to openly declare itself a nuclear state? Same question for Taiwan (ROC)?

Oh I know. I just watched a Chinese movie about the period, The Eight Hundred. It's worth a watch.

The only reason D-Day succeeded was that 80% of the German Army was in Russia.

The 20% that was in France were the old, injured and/or reservists.

The Chinese made very good swords. From 800 or so AD until 1750 China was probably the predominate world military power. They can certainly rattle sabers in a historical sense.

China was never a world military power in that time period. Maybe certain times an Asian military power. The Mongolians have ownership of that claim. And when the Europeans showed up in the 1800s (you know from half way around the world) they certainly had the best of that “great military power” China...
