Recently we’ve been seeing stories in the news about average Americans pushing back against liberal initiatives. Taken alone, these stories are entertaining, though not particularly earth-shattering. But observed together, do they form a pattern? Are we seeing the beginning signs of a cultural realignment?
One recent story is that of women protesting a California spa allowing “perfectly normal women with penises” to use the female facilities. The protesters were quick to point out that they are Democrats and support LGBTGFNB rights. But it turns out there is a limit to the amount of leftist baloney that even Democrats can accept. Equity for people with gender confusion sounds compassionate in theory. In reality, it facilitates naked men bathing with our six-year-old daughters -- which inspires a different emotion than compassion.
“Perfectly normal women with penises” competing in women’s sports is all over the news too. The left has been telling us that we need to accept each person’s perception of reality -- even if that person is somewhat gender confused. But “perfectly normal women with penises” competing in women’s sports has illustrated the absurd destination this path leads to. Why don’t we go ahead and let heavyweight boxers identify as lightweights and let them beat the crap out of somebody half their size? After a year of this nonsense, we’re beginning to see that there may be many perceptions of reality, but there is only one actual reality. Are feminists starting to see that their movement sold them into servitude to liberalism and they’ve become the handmaidens of leftism?

I don’t think it’s a cultural realignment. More like a continued race to the cultural bottom. Remember that politics and everything else is downstream of culture.
Maybe they will, maybe they won’t.

Wow. I suspected this would happen... there are no longer enough letters in the English language to uniquely identify each form of dysphoria with a single letter. I have no idea what the second G and the second B stand for, nor do I really care.

While we are seeing some people wake up, it’s not happening at a fast enough rate to offset the influx of natural Democrat voters. We’ve ‘imported’ more than a HALF-MILLION illegals since Biden assumed office. For some perspective, that roughly the population of the city of Atlanta.
We’re turning into Venezuela and I’m afraid is far too late to stop it.
IMO more are awake than we think. The media wants us to think otherwise but the reality is that the Marxist left has been exposed and people of all stripes are seeing it.
We also try to forgive others when they sin against us, whereas the Left never forgives because it seeks to use the sins, real or imagined, of it’s political adversaries to gain more power.
So, the Left/Right divide is really the gulf between good and evil, between light and darkness, and it can never be mended. It can only be eliminated by eliminating one side or the other.
Communists have been waiting for this moment for decades.
I’m sure that there’s people with enough remaining common sense to know that men waving their tallywackers around in a womens locker room is neither normal nor desirable but I see that reaction as just a bump in the road and easily overcome by The Narrative.

That process was exacerbated in 2020 Portland, Minneapolis and perhaps Seattle. Too far gone, they are irrecoverable. The core rot will prevent normalization
I think there is a sense of “a pox on both your houses” since the libertarian Right took over the GOP and gave us economic policy by magical thinking and lots of gambling. The libertarian Left is giving us a doobie in every pot, gay marriage, the alphabet people, defund the police, and before they could even get to legalized prostitution and pedophelia, reality has begun to catch up with them on the alphabet people and defund the police.
More than likely, whats going to happen is that voters will go for what looks like centrists, ala Joe Biden and Eric Adams, and the libertarian plot to inflict utopia on the rest of us will be repackaged to not look like the thing that people are rebelling against. As long as the news media is not doing their job (looking at you, CNN) there will be less good information around, and that means there will be more kooks and conspiracy theories, and more fascism because people are going to want clarity, and fascism promises clarity, even if its all lies.
