A Nashville woman is suing Tennessee officials after her vanity license plate reading "69PWNDU" was taken away a decade after she first registered it.
"When Nashville woman Leah Gilliam purchased a vanity plate to celebrate her interests in astronomy and gaming, it did not occur to her that her constitutionally protected speech could land her in jail," her lawyers at Horwitz Law PLLC wrote in a press release.
Tennessee Department of Revenue officials ruled it "offensive" and in violation of the law – putting Gilliam at risk of prosecution.

What about the govt moron who actually approved the plate? Why isn’t this person under investigation? I find it hilarious that the govt agency that issues the dammed plates threatens the person they sent it to. Kafka would have loved this.

Not what you think, she says 69 the year we landed on moon and PWNDU is a video slang when you beat someone like owned.
The story says “69” is the year of the moon landing and “pwn” is gamer-speak for “you’re owned” (your defeated”) and that pwn has made it into the dictionary. I think pwnd u is “I owned you.” I don’t see how that’s offensive. “69” - well, that can be - but surely they can’t ban every license plate with 69 on it.
...and 69 is the graphic symbol for the astrological constellation cancer, either they are violating her 1st amendment right to expressing a preferred faith, or they are cruelly mocking a cancer survivor!
Somebody saw the numbers “69”, and assumed that must be about the (infamous?) sexual position, aka 69.
I won’t be explaining what that position means.

PWND means “Owned”. The PWND is typically used after losing badly during an online game (e.g., I was really PWND, man.) When one player completely annihilates another, the loser is said to have been PWND (i.e., owned, beaten, defeated).
But there is also a sexual connotation I will leave to you to discover...There might even be pics.

My license plate ends in FU. I won’t post the first part, but it reads like a Craigslist personal ad. Not a vanity plate, just Floriduh.

“owned you”, and “obvious reference to slavery.
