I’ll guess the fire department had “fun” putting it out.

Hey, Greta, before you go off on another rant, put a sock in it, sit down and shut up. Got that?

I suspect that a trained chemist could explain why lithium batteries can spontaneously combust like that. IIRC lithium batteries catching fire even caused a plane crash once (can’t recall the details).

Folks, gasoline powered cars catch fire all the time.
Please do not be hypocrites.

Tell me about the 38 GM gasoline cars that caught fire yesterday in the USA.
Because statistically, that is how many catch fire every day.
Since there are almost 100 ice cars for every electric, your news doesn’t make electrics look good at all.

A lot of flames there and a lot of victims to pull out from underneath with three seconds to spare for Ponch and Jon.

I read it Fox News article two years ago.
Catching fire for every reason.
Rats eating through wires. Causing a short.
Gas leaking on hot catalytic converter.
Arson. For revenge or insurance money.
Controlled for age, combustion vehicles burn at a rate 10x electric vehicles. No reason to suspect there is more arson in gasoline vehicles than electric vehicles.

And how many of those gas car fires are due to accidents?

Please do not be hypocrites. As for me, it's like the classic 1974 Van Morrison Live album (recently remastered):

OK, it’s not just Teslas that catch on fire...I bet the owner is glad the car wasn’t charging inside his garage.
—
That is one of the reasons in older suburban neighborhoods you often see detached garages or if a garage is attached, the interior walls are parged with a coat of cement for fireproofing. Not that people back then had electric cars; there was just a bit of distrust that a car fire might start in the garage.

The emissions from just ONE of those EV fires probably equals the emissions of 10,000 gas powered automobiles for a full year of use.

“Folks, gasoline powered cars catch fire all the time.”
When they are just sitting around? When they are being fueled?
Show me the stats if you are going to make the claim.
