China 'Will Never Allow' Military Intervention Over Taiwan: Beijing

China has said it "will never allow" any country to intervene militarily in a Taiwan Strait conflict, one day after Japan's deputy prime minister posited a collective defense of the self-ruled island by Japanese and U.S. forces.

Zhao Lijian, a spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, called recent remarks by senior Japanese official Taro Aso "extremely wrong and dangerous," saying they "undermine the political foundation of China-Japan relations."

Aso, who is Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga's deputy as well as the country's finance minister, told a political fundraiser in Tokyo on Monday that a Chinese invasion of Taiwan could be seen as an "existential threat" to Japan and its outlying islands.

"If a major incident occurs in Taiwan, it's not at all unusual to consider it an existential threat [to Japan]," Tokyo's Jiji Press quoted him as saying. "In such a case, Japan and the United States will have to work together to defend Taiwan."

Zhao said China "deplores and firmly opposes" Aso's remarks, and had filed a diplomatic complaint with Japan. It was China's third such protest in the space of four weeks, following separate incidents in June involving Suga and Japanese Deputy Defense Minister Yasuhide Nakayama—both over Taiwan.

At the daily press briefing in Beijing on Tuesday, Zhao referenced Japanese militarism in World War II and suggested recent remarks out of Tokyo were a callback to that era, saying the country had not "learned lessons from history

The Butchers of Beijing know even better than we that they have nothing to fear from Harris *or* Biden. Taiwan will be a province of the People's Republic of China by January 2025.

And the mullahs in Tehran will have a nuke.

Winxi Pooh sure has a big mouth. The Chinese didn’t fare so well the last time they went up against the Chrysanthemum Throne.

China knows full well that if they invade Taiwan that the US and Japan will do nothing by engage in “diplomacy” an “sanctions” that have little impact on China.

I don’t think Joe Biden would allow it either.

War with China would mean a long overdue repatriation of industry which would be a boon to American workers and wages.

The Chinese military were also qualitatively and quantitatively inferior to the Japanese at that time. At best, Japan only has quality over China at this point, and that may not be enough.

I doubt they’d even put sanction in place, besides perhaps some token ones. The US isn’t putting carrier strike groups at risk over Taiwan. The US isn’t even going to puts its trade relationship at risk over Taiwan. I’m not saying it’s right; just that it’s reality.

The western world needs to immediately start moving all important manufacturing to other, friendlier countries. Ideally to the US and western Europe, but that isn’t going to happen. Either way, the sooner we get critical manufacturing away from China, the sooner we can actually deal with China the way they deserve after all they’ve done to the world: economically isolate them and watch their economy wither and die.

The CCP speaks! Their running dogs echo it.

Allowing China to successfully invade Taiwan would be a major strategic blunder that the USA would never recover from. Not one single current ally would ever trust us again.

Do not overestimate the PLA. Their amphibious assault troops train on wide sandy beaches. Taiwan has marshy muddy miring beaches that are liberally sewn with mines. And pipes to spew burning oil. Loads and loads of hidden missiles to deploy.

China is playing a psyops game. They need their victims to give up without a fight otherwise the hollowness of their forces will be there for all the world to see.

“Allowing China to successfully invade Taiwan would be a major strategic blunder that the USA would never recover from”

Agreed. A primary US foreign policy goal should be forging a strong alliance between our anti-China friends in Asia.

China is a bully to its neighbors. A mutual defense treaty between Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Philippines, and India would be a permanent block on China’s territorial expansion.
