A new Tesla Model S Plaid caught fire on Tuesday while the driver was at the wheel, according to Charles McGarvey, chief fire officer for the Lower Merion Township Fire Department in Pennsylvania. The driver’s lawyers say he noticed smoke coming out of the back of the vehicle and had to force his way out of the car. Tesla began deliveries of the Model S Plaid, a new high-performance version of its flagship sedan, in June. Earlier, CEO Elon Musk said that deliveries would begin in February.

Well, that had to be intense.

That is the one downside of Teslas.

Glad he got out. Not everyone has been able to get out of a burning Tesla.

Sometimes they do this while in your garage, parked overnight.

The doors are electrically operated. Rescue crews have had to watch people fry.

Gives a new meaning to the term “hot car” doesn’t it?

Soon, the Tesla CyberTruck will be sold, featuring shatterproof glass that can take a hammer blow without breaking. Hot stuff (for those burning)!

That's ok...the fire will go out in a week or two. Just let it burn itself out.

Tesla caught on fire while driving? That’s okay, it’s a self-driving car. It can call ahead and swing by the fire station on the way to the hospital (or the morgue depending on the driver’s inputs). Afterwards it can drive itself to the junkyard.

Be sure to have a hammer in the car so you can break the glass. Electrical fire may lock doors and disable windows.

I became a prisoner in my Honda Civic, 2012, locked inside with horn blaring. It really got me good service when I drove it to the dealer service line, though. They dropped everything to help me!

Do other electric cars burn too? I only hear about Teslas burning. That can’t be right.

25 to 30 thousand gallons of water to put it out. All now contaminated with chemicals that run off into the ground and where every else. Some serious pollution right here, but the MSM won’t talk about it because the push is on for us to be slaves to EV’s.

Imagine all the people that amount of water could have served. What happens where they have severe water shortages?

Well yeah, I want to go really fast but let’s skip the bursting into flames.

Just an aside, but Tesla’s are some of the worst looking vehicles I have ever seen.

I saw one recently, side view and rear view. It was OK. I really wanted the guy to floor it and burst into flames but he was taking it real easy.

That’s enough to grow one avocado in California.

If every car on the road was electric there would be hundreds of fires a day

“The car owner’s attorneys told CNBC that he noticed smoke coming from the back of his 2021 Model S Plaid and tried to unlock and open the doors but had to force his way out of the vehicle, as the locks seemed to malfunction. After he left the car, it began to move on its own and flames engulfed it.”

Not only does it catch fire, but it keeps you locked in to see to it that you burn along with it.

25,000 gallons is just one swimming pool to them.
