Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, tells Newsmax he's "considering" another run for the White House in 2024, but he'd be happy seeking another term representing Texas in the U.S. Senate as well.
Appearing Thursday on "The Chris Salcedo Show," Cruz told guest host Tom Basile he was "just considering it, just thinking about it," when asked about his 2024 plans.
Former President Donald Trump has yet to announce whether he will seek reelection after his 2020 loss to Democrat Joe Biden. A move by Trump to reclaim the Oval Office would certainly make the still popular former commander-in-chief the strong front-runner and force most serious candidates such as Cruz to sit out another four years.
But Cruz said his 2016 bid for the GOP presidential nomination, in which he was the last candidate standing against Trump, was "the most fun I've ever had in my life."
"We came incredibly close," he said. "Had an incredible grassroots army of 326,000 volunteers nationwide. And so whether it is in the Senate, or whether it is in a presidential campaign, I am committed to fighting to defend free enterprise, to defend freedom and defend the Constitution and Bill of Rights."

OK, just remember - it’s Ted and his political career first, maybe America second.

I wish President Trump selected Senator Cruz for VP. Cruz would have been much more of a fighter than Pence, I believe.
Trump might still be in the White House.
Please don’t Teddie Boy. Trump is only going to smash your skinny butt into the ground!!! Don’t go git yo-self embarrassed, again!! LOL ;-)
Thats my dilemma too. If its rigged, why show up?
Trump had a turn-coat stiff in Pence as VP and still got 80 million votes. He could have run on the same ticket as Gumby and we still would have voted for him. Problem is the system is corrupt and I’m not optimistic we will ever have fair elections again.
Ted should hold out for a nomination to SCOTUS.
The Canadian Cuban thinks he is still qualified? Has he not forgotten his debt to Trump? Has he not forgotten how disastrous his last futile run was? I guess if he wants to further in himself, and waste peoples money, let him run, but he has less than zero chance of winning.
You forgot the sarcasm tag. Tell us one concrete thing that Lyn’ Ted, the Canadian-Cuban, has accomplished as a senator? Nothing, absolutely nothing.
Delusional
Senator, yes, President, no.
Barnaby Jones would have been a better attorney general than Sessions. Any random FReeper would have been a better attorney general than Sessions.
Even announcing he calls Trump’s attention and certainly a lot more if Cruz actually runs for 2024. Would Trump even be willing to consider him for Supreme Court under those circumstances? I wonder how much buyer’s remorse Trump has for the 3 he already sent to the Supreme Court considering some of their recent votes or refusals to consider cases? Also, how significant would Cruz’s trip to Cancun be if he did run?
So he had Canadian citizenship, but was he actually born in the US? Were his parents Canadian visiting the US, or did they come here to have an “anchor baby?”
Ted has said many times that he has no desire to serve on the Supreme Court. Trump should have picked some state Supreme Court judges to the high court and stayed out of federal trough of selections. It is by no means certain that his three justices can be depended upon.
He was born in Canada. He was a Canadian citizen at birth. His parents were established in Canada, on the Canadian voting rolls.
Rafael Edward Cruz was born on December 22, 1970 at Foothills Medical Centrein Calgary, Canada, to Eleanor Elizabeth (née Darragh) Wilson and Rafael Cruz. Eleanor Wilson was born in Wilmington, Delaware. She is of three-quarters Irish and one-quarter Italian descent, and earned an undergraduate degree in mathematics from Rice University in the 1950s.
Cruz’s father was born and raised in Cuba, the son of a Canary Islander who immigrated to Cuba as child. As a teenager in the 1950s, he was beaten by agents of Fulgencio Batista for opposing the Batista regime. He left Cuba in 1957 to attend the University of Texas at Austin and obtained political asylum in the United States after his four-year student visa expired. He earned Canadian citizenship in 1973 and became a naturalized United States citizen in 2005.
At the time of his birth, Ted Cruz’s parents had lived in Calgary for three years and were working in the oil business as owners of a seismic-data processing firm for oil drilling. Both were Canadian citizens and voted in Canadian elections.
Cruz has said that he is the son of “two mathematicians/computer programmers.” In 1974, Cruz’s father left the family and moved to Texas. Later that year, Cruz’s parents reconciled and relocated the family to Houston. They divorced in 1997.
Then, by all means, go out there and do something about Obama and Harris!
A second Ron in the White House, sounds great!
If you really believe Biden won 81 million votes and President Trump got 74 million votes even though there was 121 million registered voters in the U.S., then there is no help for you.
The elections are rigged with the Soros Venezuelan voting machines.
You can forget ever having anything until the elections are fixed. They stole the election in 2020 from President Trump and everyone including most Leftist know this.
