Ted Cruz to Newsmax: 'Considering' 2024 White House Run
Newsmax ^ | Thursday, 01 July 2021 06:49 PM | By Jack Gournell

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, tells Newsmax he's "considering" another run for the White House in 2024, but he'd be happy seeking another term representing Texas in the U.S. Senate as well.

Appearing Thursday on "The Chris Salcedo Show," Cruz told guest host Tom Basile he was "just considering it, just thinking about it," when asked about his 2024 plans.

Former President Donald Trump has yet to announce whether he will seek reelection after his 2020 loss to Democrat Joe Biden. A move by Trump to reclaim the Oval Office would certainly make the still popular former commander-in-chief the strong front-runner and force most serious candidates such as Cruz to sit out another four years.

But Cruz said his 2016 bid for the GOP presidential nomination, in which he was the last candidate standing against Trump, was "the most fun I've ever had in my life."

"We came incredibly close," he said. "Had an incredible grassroots army of 326,000 volunteers nationwide. And so whether it is in the Senate, or whether it is in a presidential campaign, I am committed to fighting to defend free enterprise, to defend freedom and defend the Constitution and Bill of Rights."

Trump would have to move out of FL. you can’t have 2 people from the same state on the ticket!! It would be a dream ticket it would give us 12 years of sanity!!

Huge issue for taxes. I'm not a fan of playing semantics. A pres and vp should be from a different state. Changing a residence at the last second seems gay.

Texas, like Florida has a zero income tax rate.

Do you know the meaning of semantics?

The President and VP should be from a different state. Why? I know it is the law, but why?

Now for the dumbest statement ever, "Changing residence at the last second seem gay".

WTF does that mean?

If two politicians live in a state, and then one at the last minute changes residency to get around the Constitution, that is gay.

I merely pointed out the Constitutional requirement is to have a vp and pres from a different state. But, the Constitution went out of favor years ago.

I don't think any of those citizenship issues ever interfered with Kamala’s current job.

Neither of her parents were US citizens at the time of her birth.

Whether we like it or not, I think she set a precedence.

Currently Trump spends Memorial Day-Novemberish at Trump National Bedminster GC.

NJ only requires 183 days (half a year) in the state. All Trump has to do is add a few more days in NJ to apply for NJ residency.

Did this idiot ever concede that the 2020 was rigged? Get a dose of reality Ted. You won’t win 2024. No Republican will. Talk about clueless.

Ted Cruz is the best option after Trump.

Trump is like Churchill in the 1930s.

And Cruz is Chamberlin. Other than tweets, and debates, what the hell has he accomplished?

He accomplishes more by 9 a.m. than you will accomplish in your entire life.

And you already knew that.

Yeah well I can take a dump too. Is that what he did today? And yesterday? How about the day before? Gosh the newspapers must have missed what Super Cruz has done for the last 6 months...other than tweet about how he supports Brittany Spears and fly down to Cabo while Texans were freezing to death. By the fact you cant name 1 thing tells me you are a clueless fanboy..... but you already knew that.

Probably true !

USSC Justice best fits his temperament & one way he can make a even lasting contribution though not as glorious as being president.
