Target won't explain why nearly all its San Francisco stores have reduced hours
SF Gate ^ | June 30, 2021 | By Joshua Bote

Nearly every Target in San Francisco — except for the one at Stonestown — has cut its operating hours to 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

That inflexibility makes it tough for the average nine-to-five, full-time worker to make a Target run on weekdays after work, let alone other individuals affected by constraints of time, access or ability to do some everyday shopping. It's unclear when these cut hours were rolled out.

The reduced hours ignited concerns on Reddit over an uptick in retail theft and labor shortages hitting San Francisco Targets. After all, one Target in San Francisco — the location on Ocean Ave. — just shuttered earlier this week.

It may very well be the so-called wave of retail theft hitting San Francisco. But if that were the case, the Stonestown Target would also have its hours cut, given the police district it's located in (the Taraval District) has comparable levels of larceny theft to the Park District, where a Target with shortened hours is located.

Days after Floyd killed himself and riots engulfed America, Target did this...

Target Commits $10 Million and Ongoing Resources for Rebuilding Efforts and Advancing Social Justice

A year later, they can't keep their stores open in urban America because they're getting robbed blind...or worse.

I have recently seen 2 Waffle Houses in the Houston Texas area closed. Waffle House never closes. Can't staff them. Understaffed when I have been in before 6AM.

Joshua Bote is so economically illiterate he cannot connect the dots that looting and riots lead to this.

Target should say that after 6 PM they had no more male customers using female restrooms and decided to shut down so they wouldn’t support classical homophobic responsive unconscious bias blah blah blah. LOL

Better yet, have them open from 5 am to 11 am, when most of the criminal class is still asleep.

That inflexibility makes it tough for the average nine-to-five, full-time worker to make a Target run on weekdays after work, let alone other individuals affected by constraints of time, access or ability to do some everyday shopping.

But those hours still work fine for criminals looking to shoplift.

We are reducing our carbon footprint.

We are doing our part to not overstress the energy grid in California.

We find most of our earnings come from these prime hours.

Target is suffering from the same thing many companies are having problems with………..people coming to work or people looking for a job.

Companies have no immunity from legal action if they force someone to come to work during Covid. So most companies like retail are waving the attendance policies and letting their employees stay home freely.

Many employees are using this excuse and then collecting unemployment which pays them MORE than their wage at their job.

The same type of people that make more staying home on unemployment or welfare are NOT looking for work or accepting just any job.

So basically, the employees are job protected no matter how much they disregard their company’s attendance policy and the employers can’t find anyone to hire in the meantime.

Do shop-lifters work at night?

Its also obvious - they can’t find enough workers, like everyone else.
