Forgot to say……..reduced store hours mean less people needed to run the store.

Higher crime rates
Fewer people willing to work...
Not enough sales at night to justify staying open...
Danger to current employees after dark...

Cops don’t have time to arrest looters and thieves...
The place is becoming a typical liberal hellhole. I’m surprised more store aren’t doing the same.

humungus thefts
Californication does not prosecute thefts under $950
and San Fransicko DA Office doesn’t bother under $10,000 in most cases
you get what you incentivize

Still more hours than the welfare office. Yeah, but the welfare office doesn't give away TVs.

A local company just closed a branch store. No theft problem. Not enough employees to keep the store open.
A fair number of local fast food places, after a burst of opening for dine-in post Covid, have gone back to only drive-through because of lack of workers.

Want to cut shrinkage because of shoplifting? Transition back to contactless curbside pickup of on-line orders. If no one except employees are in the store, it reduces the amount of merchandise that grow legs.

Shoplifting/looting and lack of law enforcement. What’s not to understand?

When so many professionals relocate to Texas, their sons and daughters go with them.
There's also the issue of running one extended length shift instead of a day and evening shift.
Customers have also changed their habits. They were previously working at a company during the day and shopping on their commute home or after they ate dinner but now are working from home and can shop as soon as they log off their computer.

This is very insensitive to shoplifters if you ax me.

Avoiding the legal theft. Ferals don’t get up in time to go before dark. Well, it will need to be earlier than 6pm to avoid the dark come winter since the sun sets before 5pm local.

No Wal-Mart in San Francisco. I think closest one is like 30 miles away, across the bay in San Leandro.
You always hear stats about how 90% of the U.S. population lives within 10 or 15 miles of a Wal-Mart. S.F. is in the other 10 percent.

This is happening everywhere. Nobody wants to work and the stock doesn’t reach the shelves so they close early and try to stock. That is if they have any stock because nobody wants to drive a truck either.

Better yet, have them open from 5 am to 11 am, when most of the criminal class is still asleep.

Since it is apparently legal to steal small amounts in CA, many employees are busy helping themselves to merchandise.
*************
Hence the name Target.
To: Oldeconomybuyer
Target in my area has lost half of their shopping carts (worth $600) and have none of their shopper hand baskets left. Theft is rampant and they do not bother prosecuting the thieves for thefts under $750, which is a misdemeanor. Those under $750 items can add up, which is putting stores like Target in trouble.
