Just what they need.
Will just speed up the exodus of residents leaving the state.
If they can nullify Federal laws against illegal drugs can other states nullify Federal laws against possession of firearms?
What a long strange bad trip it’s all become.
I see it as more Cloward-Piven.
Some people can take drugs and remain fine and productive.
But certainly a good many people who get involved with drugs become less productive and more dependent on government assistance. Therefore, we “need” more Progressive policies to “help” people and we get expanded government. Yay!
I don’t know why they’re doing this. It’s not like California has a problem dumbing down their population enough to keep them voting Dim.
“Wiener states he is pushing the measure as a way to expand treatment for mental illnesses and roll back criminal-justice policies that he sees as discriminating against people of color.”
I wonder if this CongressRat asked any ‘people of color’ if they WANTED more dangerous drugs on the street for their kids to use and sell...
...and how does THAT help discrimination against ‘people of color,’ I’d like to know?
Utter fools.
Can you take non-hallucinigenic drugs for Covid if you want to in California? And if not why not?
It’s no longer a slippery slope, it’s a sheer cliff.
Forget about the wall on the southern border. We need a wall around California asap.
>>The bill also includes language to end promotion of abstinence in state drug and alcohol programs.
Then it would seem that you cannot drug test (for drugs or alcohol) in paroles convicted of drug or alcohol offenses.
WHY am I NOT surprised?????
The future's so bright, I gotta wear shades.
Far out, man.
Step 2. Legislate all sorts on unConstitutional powers for government that are supposedly needed to fight "War on Citizens er, Drugs"
Step 3. Uphold all these powers against challenge on the spurious basis that "but then how would the goobermint fight the War on Drugs?", ignoring the argument that obviously trumps that: "So what?" Use those powers against normal non-druggie citizens 80% of the time in ways that would never have been politically palatable to sell the empowering legislation.
Step 4. Stop pretending that empowering government at the expense of the host organism was ever about drugs, so that we don't even get that tiny benefit from this Faustian bargain. Don't forget to leave the improper (and apparently no longer necessary) powers in place.
If mind altering drugs are safe enough for legal use than they should not be usable as claims for extenuating circumstances for any crimes allegedly committed voluntarily under their influence.
“… that he sees as discriminating against people of color.”
That’s actually a pretty racist. Saying a lot of people of color do drugs. And when they do these drugs they see all sorts of colors!
Choices... Choices...
Allow drugs to be legal...
Give the government even more control over our lives....
Common sense should prevail..
But, alas, it does not...
So, I choose to deny the government power over the citizens...
We see you
Whatever it takes to move us closer to a future THEY (Democrats, Republicans, Blackrock, Soros, Koch, USCOC) want for us: sheep, controlled and programmed in a mashup of Brave New World and THX 1138.
