Biden should take this one small step to prevent gun deaths (barf alert)
Washington Examnier ^ | 27 june 2021 | Tom Joyce

--(snip) "If Biden is serious about wanting to reduce gun deaths in the country, however, there is a reasonable proposal he supports that should garner support from people on both sides of the aisle: voluntary gun buybacks.

This isn’t the mandatory gun buyback idea from former Rep. Beto O’Rourke, a Texas Democrat, that resulted in him getting a ton of downvotes on Reddit. That’s a horrible idea that many Democrats don’t support either.

Rather, the federal government could create a program that provides grants and resources for states, cities, and towns that want to hold voluntary gun buyback programs. Costs for such a program could be low since gun buybacks typically involve exchanging a gun for a gift card, and businesses can donate gift cards."

Yeah. If you paid 500 bucks for a gun then offer 1500 of our tax payer dollars to buy it back..

How does the government buy something back that it did not sell? This alone shows the idiocy of the idea. Plus, if my tax dollars are going to be used to buy someone’s weapon, I want to be given the damn weapon.

If Joe Biden is anything, it’s probably pudding that he is most concerned about, and probably also ice cream. That is the extent of his depth of thought.

It is not possible, in principle, to “buy back” something that you never owned in the first place. The whole idea is premised upon a deception.

I wonder how they plan to pay for all those guns. It seems like a subsidy for gun manufacturers. If I had any kind of gun I sure as f-word would not want to get rid of it at any price.

Gun buy backs are a waste of money, as the guns sold are mostly worthless pieces of junk that don’t work anymore anyway.

Why get the government involved???

If a person has a gun that they no longer want, then sell the damn thing.

Just stop counting suicides as “Gun violence” and we get rid of 62% of Gun related deaths. Presumably most of those people would have just found a new way to off themselves even if they didn’t have a gun.

RAPE isn't penis violence.

ARSON isn't fire violence.

Ghetto Murders aren't gun violence.

ALL OF THE ABOVE ARE CRIMINAL VIOLENCE.

Making white men in suburbs wear chastity belts won't stop rape in inner city black communities.

Making the white community give up matches won't stop buildings and stores from being burnt in black communities.

Taking AR-15s away from white communities won't stop blacks in inner city democrat hellholes from using pistols to kill people.

Tom Joyce of the Washington Examnier is a fool. It's time to tell democrats and the black community that we're NOT playing along with their fantasies any longer...

“Rather, the federal government could create a program that provides grants and resources for states, cities, and towns...”

There you have the purpose of this proposal: give Democrat constituencies more taxpayer money to plunder. Conservative states, cities, etc. aren’t into gun “buyback” scams; only Dems will take the cash, and the proponents well know it.

Here’s an alternative plan: state and local police check on convicted felons, confiscate their illegal weapons, and send them back for more “correction”? Wouldn’t this be more likely to reduce crime than buying worn out single barrel shotguns from grannies?

gun buybacks typically involve exchanging a gun for a gift card,

They can loot and get whatever their heart desires

true enough

its really more a libtard catchphrase that’s inaccurate but they like saying it

and it gives a false sense like govt permitted these folks to have a gun in the first place and now they are just getting it back
