Former Vice President Mike Pence on Thursday addressed his GOP critics who believe he could have moved to decertify the election results on January 6, stating there is “almost no idea more un-American than the notion that any one person could choose the American President.”
Speaking at the Reagan Library in Southern California as part of “The Time For Choosing” series, Pence laid out a vision for the future of the Republican Party, which he said must be devoted to the Constitution of the United States.

Exact same defense Brian Kemp is using.
Pence has learned the democrat art of false flag doublespeak wwll.
Just a GOP yes person without any individual principles.

The GOP as a whole has no principles. Just sayin.
RE: It Is ‘Un-American’ to Think ‘Any One Person Could Choose the American President
He’s obfuscating. Pence was NOT BEING ASKED to choose the President. He was being asked to delay the certification of the results because of serious concerns about fraud.
He was always a coward since the time he was governor and backed down from the Religious Freedom restoration act
‘Third-rate intellect, first-rate coward...’: Steve Bannon, War Room 6/25.
“almost no idea more un-American than the notion that any one person could choose the American President.”A real nasty slap in the face to President Trump.
Take your pick.
Specious and dishonest.

Precisely right.
This has honestly caused me to even doubt the man’s salvation . . .
Yeah I think that's the thing. His snarky attitude. I'm not opposed to what he actually did. But he acted like an Assistant Democrat. Revealed his true colors.
Pence is sounding more pathetic every day. What a traitor.
its Un-American to think that dead people, foreign nationals (China and Iran), and computer algorithms can choose the American President.
Pence is correct, but he should have stood by Trump and fought the stolen election.
He must have no awareness of irony after saying that the future of the GOP would be supporting the U.S. Constitution.
His big chance to do that was basically an own goal, he should see if Slovakia needs a back-up goalie.
So true.
“almost no idea more un-American than the notion that any one person could choose the American President.”
But YOU did choose...
His contention is a false argument and he knows it.
No one asked or expected he, as one man, to pick the president. He was expected to send the results back to those states where fraud had been alleged and thousands of sworn affidavits were signed stating so.
The VP is not supposed to be a mere Rubber Stamp to any result delivered.
