Lemoore, California has declared a State of Emergency following the deadly explosion of a 1.5 million gallon city water tank. Surveillance video shows the moment of explosion from several angles.

I was wondering what that meant exactly, so here's what I found:
Signaling Molecules: Definition & Concept
Note: This is a training module, so it requires that you create an account to continue watching. However, what they do show gives you more than enough information to understand the concept, and it's quite interesting and short (about 2 minutes) in length. 8>)
Hydrogen sulfide? Gotta be due to global warming.
The 1.5 million gal is likely the capacity of the tank. The news video report didn’t mention the current volume or average volume at the time of explosion. From the video, the water is clearly visible falling down and out under the rising tank, and then hitting the ground and pushing outward, moving structures. The video report even used the word “sunami” for the effect of the water on the area immediately around the tank. So that’s why water pressure is low and restrictions are in place—a large volume of water was lost to the ground during the explosion. It will take some time for that to get recycled into the aquifers/wells (geologists—? hundreds of years?), and for the community to pump the well water back into a tank (when they rebuild it or put in a new tank).
Hydr9gen sulfide is a gas that comes from decaying vegetation. It it water soluble . Swamp gas is usually methane
You tube has training videos and other videos of tanks exploding when someone sets off a spark in an improperly purged and tested tank.
“H2S ignited by a welder.”
You know your stuff. The Hanford/Lemoore area has been loaded with H2S for many years. I can remember smelling it when I lived near that area and traveled through it in the mid 1950’s.

Now you've done it! Trump's fault. ;-)
Pull my anoxia layer finger!
I don’t doubt your expertise. Still doesn’t explain why the FBI blew it up.
Occam’s razor says the FBI blew this up. So does Magic 8 ball.
I have welded holes shut in a 50,000 gallon fuel tank that was 1/2 full. You just have to know what you are doing. Lots of smaller tanks too over the yrs.
I didn’t know water was combustible. Boilers can blow from excessive heat/pressure though.
Hydrogen Sulfide is explosive and is commonly found in untreated well water........... Smells like ‘rotten eggs’.....................
H²S is nasty stuff!
The bif is a terrorest org?
Thanks for the info. It appeared to be empty. perhaps it was only partially full - maybe they emptied enough to do the welding. I don’t know any facts about it. But tanks of any kind have a habit of blowing up if you are not careful with your welding.
I used to work in a textile plant. Rayon making process produces a lot of hydrogen sulfide gas. I don’t recall a lot of warnings about it being explosive more toward getting into pockets and breathing it. I was a Lead Burner as all the machinery was covered in lead and I’ve been in tanks pipes with open flames lol..it’s a wonder the whole plant didn’t blow up.
The one plant was about 10 acres under roof from receiving to shipping departments.
Doesn’t sound like a fun job!
